I think Schotty can add that fade route to the back of the end zone to the playbook. Having a big WR gives us that threat in the red zone that he haven't really had this year (maybe haven't had since Keyshawn).

Just the threat of Edwards makes teams have to respect our passing game more. What little we saw of Greene looks great. I am so sick of Jones with his little side hops and then taken down on the first contact after maybe a one yard gain. All we need is Sanchez to not play like a rookie.

I'm not sure it does. If I'm playing the Jets I figure I have a 50/50 chance of the rookie QB beating me or giving me the game if I just play field position and don't screw up against the Jets D. I would single cover him and squeeze the field and take those odds.

At the end of the day the Jets have an excellent D and the thing that takes us far or restrains us this year is the QB. This team goes as far as Sanchez takes them.

OMG.. Not the "Fade Route" again. Man, Shotty was addicted to that freakin play for years! He tried to use it with damn near every Jet WR that ever saw the field while he was OC. He was as bad with the Fade as Hackett was with the 3rd and long draw..

We've seen the Jets play Hartsock more already than I think many thought they would when he came to the Jets. In single back double TE sets Keller can be that Welker type, effectively the slot receiver.

Of course Hartsock is not in there for catches. When the Jets want to put four receivers down the field, concededly it would have been better if they still had Stuckey along with Edwards, with Stuckey a better receiver than Hartsock.

I'd like to see Wright get more chances, too. He's great on special teams, but if he could contribute in the slot, how awesome would that be?

I'm not dis-agreeing, but how many of Smiths are sure TD's? I know Edwards has that history.

The pressure is now on the OLine. They have underperformed so far IMO. When Sanchez has time he does well. If the running game can get going he should do even better.

This is exactly the point, not necessarily Edwards lighting it up, but the offense as a whole gets better. Great post, this is exactly what was accomplished with this move. Now if some of these "sky is falling, Trusnik and Stuck will be greatly missed" posters will shut up and read, they will get it finally!

Nobody is going to double him unless he proves he needs to be doubled. In the NFL teams defend reality not perception.

The sky isn't falling because we lost some players who have contibuted to our 3 and 1 start and some picks which we desperately need for the future.

The Jets also aren't better because we line up a guy who hasn't played well who might be a theat on the outside. The Jets will be substantially better if Edwards plays like a legitimate big time WR.

We could line up Cloney if the threat was all you needed.
