that's what makes me happy about Sanchez. He obviously is going to work his craft to the highest ability. Guy hardly played any ball, and he is playin some good ball.
Big deal. It's just some guy expressing his own personal opinion. Why should I care what some no name ESPN writer thinks?? I think they're both very solid QB's at this early stage, with neither proving to be better than the other. Give it another year first... ~BK~
Both QBs look like they will be good, I think we'll be seeing alot of great battles btw our teams and this debate will go on for years.
Up's and downs throughout his first full season from Sanchez but the way he ended his season with those last 5 games or so compared to when it was time for Henne to step up is not even a question. Right now it's Sanchez and Sanchez has more ceiling and room for growth. Still both young guys but you can't argue the last part of the season for both these QB's.
And yet... Henne won his final Bowl game with a spectacular performance in college against Florida. You take a look at the points your defense gave up in the first half of those 3 games... and it averaged out to 9 points per game in the first half. Compare that to the average of 20 points per first half that our defense was giving up. These 2 were put in totally different situations. Not to mention that Sanchez had weapons that could make big plays and take the pressure off of him. During Henne's last 3 games, he was playing w/o his starting RB, w/o his starting Center, w/o his starting LG, and w/o his starting RG... and his best WRs were a slot guy and a 4th round rookie. So... we arent exactly comparing apples to oranges here bro...
The ball got tipped at the LOS. There is a little fault that should be placed on Henne for that... but lets not make it out to be something that it wasnt... like a choke job where he makes a terrible decision and hits a LB or CB right between the numbers.
I agree... Both have shown a lot of promise... and its impossible to make proclamations about them this early. We will find out a lot about both of them this year...
I hope so, and I'm looking forward to it. Talk about throwing fuel on a bonfire that is the rivalry between the Fins and the Jets. If we both end up with franchise QBs... which neither of us have had at the same time... our rivalry will escalate to a whole new level. I cant wait!
which raised his record to 1-7 in bowl games and against OSU and let's be honest UF was disappointed they weren't playing in a BCS bowl and Mich was playing for Lloyd Carr's last game. SO FAR he hasnt' shown to be a big game QB, that could definitely change but...
1-7 in bowl games? How many years did he play in college? lol! But seriously... you cant just discount the fact that he played fantastic in a huge game during his college career b/c it doesnt fit your arguement. That was a big game for him. It was his last game at Michigan, and he was playing with everything on the line as far as his draft status and future in the NFL. There was a lot of pressure on him, especially from the theory that he doesnt play well in big games... and he went out and had one of the best games of his college career...
Because it's top-notch competition and considered one of the greatest college rivalries of all time, and thus, it gets more attention and recognition than most Bowl Games do.
If that's the case... then you have to consider his 3-1 record against the Jets and Pats... especially the MNF game. If you are going to extend beyond postseason games... MNF against the Jets is as big as it gets.
3 comeback wins in his first season starting not bad either. 7-6 as a starter (7-5 if we don't consider the finale where he only played a half). and his receivers through all this were Ted Ginn, Davone Bess, and Greg Camarillo.... who? yea, exactly.
