What it means and what everybody knows is that neither Stafford or Sanchez is worth very much. Hopefully, we know that too and lets them both pass us right on by.
Better than any of this years QBs. This is the worst QB class in years. ALL of the good QBs returned to school for their senior year,
Would you trade up in the top 10 (say with the Jags) to draft Stafford? I would think about it.. although he won't fall that much...
Yes he will. Unless KC plans on drafting Stafford over Curry, or Eugene, no one is in the need for a quarterback until the Jags or San Fran. He will definitely fall to the Jags at number 9.
My thing is if we didnt take leinhart who had 3 years exp. why would we take sanchez whose a fly by night college qb... that would be a waste of a draft pick. we might as well trade our picks and get cutler for the matter...
anybody else think that Seattle just became a dark horse to take the top QB in the draft? I still think they should take Crabtree, but with Hasselback there, that would give a future QB a chance to sit and learn for 1-2 years, and then he would be more than ready to take over the future.
They are so receiver deprived I don't think they have a choice. They can get a QB next year when the good ones come out. I think a lot of teams are going to be thinking that way.
I don't like the idea of grabbing Sanchez either, but there are a couple of problems with your logic. Sanchez has an NFL arm, Leinart didn't. While Sanchez has the experience question, Leinart had the dedication question; most scouts were worried about his ability to balance his celebrity with his obligations to the team which would only have been magnified in a big-market city like New York and as much as I hate to say this, Leinart's actions thus far have pretty much proven them right.
Couple of things: - they may be planning on trading for Cutler and so dont need to draft a QB - by openly talking about 4 or 5 possible players they hope to get the one they want to sign for less for the "honour" of being the #1 overall pick - they may be hoping that by mentioning these names they scare someone that has their heart set on one to trade up to get him (and if they haev a reasonable contract terms already agreed in principle that makes it all the easier (I know that the draftee would have only a moral obligation to stick to those terms but if they agreed to them once its ahrd to see them not agreeing to them again)).
^ They could be doing one or all of those things but they could also being going after that "Blue-goose" left tackle that Parcells always talks about. The only thing more important than a QB is an O-line to keep him healthy.
It gives us a better chance of having a guy like Sanchez on the board when we pick. I'm not crazy about Sanchez but if you like him this is good news for you.
If this does indeed occur....It's gonna be a VERY interesting draft day. Where do Stafford and Sanchez end up going?
That's pretty much what the Phins did last year. This is a non-story and the Lions have most certainly not settled on a choice for their pick yet.
I don't know how they could trade for Cutler. Denver would only want that #1 pick if they could flip it to somebody else and in recent years that has not happened at all. They would never take a QB at #1 in this year's draft and have to pay them 60 million + when they already have Cutler and there doesn't appear to be anything at the top they would be willing to pay for. Having the #1 pick is more a curse than you would think.
Doesn't Detroit have a young QB on their roster, Drew Stanton maybe? I remember he was alrite in college and he's basically a rookie at this point.
