Because they let a shit GM hire a shit coach, who then spent 100M and a top 3 draft pick, only to fire the shit GM because the shit coach didn’t like him. JD is fixing this mess.
I'd say at least their 1 and some more. I'd even take a player or two in return. I don't disagree with trading players. It will hurt Sam but it will help him next year and going forward. My only fear is that Gase is not the man to lead the team as coach. By doing this it will buy him a year and that will hurt.
The OL can be upgraded without trading Bell. We now have a 1st, a 2nd, and two 3rds to do so. Of course, I'd listen on an offer that includes a 1st rounder, but I doubt any team would give one up for him.
If Gase is still the HC, Bell won't be much, if any more effective, even with an improved OL. Also, another year older and with another year of lackluster stats, would decrease Bell's trade value.
need at least a 2020 second rounder and possibly another 4th/5th. eventual bidders will be selecting neat the bottom 1/3rd of each round so have to recognize that.
Maybe with an extra first round pick we can draft a talented and versatile playmaker.......like Bell. In the meantime Darnold will become a rhubard from all the hits and lack of options. OR we can start using Bell as a versatile playmaker, and target him in the receiving game? Maybe we can support Darnold rather than ruin him. Dump Gase!
We are wasting Bell in his prime and potentially wasting a franchise QB. We need to rebuild the offensive line with younger, less expensive lineman, while Darnold is on his first contract. IMO Adams should go to Dallas for a 1st and 3rd Bell anywhere for a 2nd rounder Robbie for a 3rd Again,Bell would have been a great piece to add 3 to 4 years from now. Adams will not want to be here during this rebuild.
