Are they ? Never actually been on the London underground lol in fact I have only been to London three times in my life. A school trip when I was 11 and twice to Wembley for football, which meant a coach/train straight to Wembley and no sightseeing lol
British Jet fan..............I'd hate it. I don't think a UK franchise would work at all for so, so many reasons and I think the NFL is seriously flawed in stating its case with gems such as "88% of UK game attendees live within 3 hours of <insert stadium>". A 3 hour drive to a game in the states might be the norm but getting to Wembley or North London would be an ordeal unless you lived in the metro/tube area or immediatly west of it. The funniest moment will come when franchise owner threatens to move the team unless he gets a taxpayer funded stadium and is told to sod off
Also don't forget that GMT is 5 hours in front of EST so, if the start time is adjusted for UK fans, the Jets will ruin even more of your Sunday than they already do.
At this juncture I wouldn't mind the Jets moving anywhere that would make attending games unfeasible. I've had it with The New Dump called MehLife. It sukks! There, I said it and I'm glad. "Drain the swamp!" Yeah, well, they sorta did that and it didn't make one chit difference building a POS ten feet away from the old POS, In fact, I liked the old POS world's better. At least mgmt. didn't attempt to lie you that the Jets were tenants and second class citizens because there wasn't any way that they could try to sell you a different reality. It's too bad that I dumped - heh- the original proposal for The New Dump in Joisey. What a brazen misrepresentation. Especially the investment part. Suckers. Anyone who is buying a PSL now is making out like a bandit, but the fact is, there isn't really a tremendous advantage to owning one. Anyway, the Jets aren't going anywhere other than straight to heck. OK, bye.
WTF is straight to heck ? Do you mean Hell but can't bring yourself to type HELL, jesus christ oops is that bad also
You don't know me very well, do you. @#&!*^%! is my goddman fukkin' middle name, ya limey cunt. Well, you asked for it. : )
Let's C when the NYJs were accepted into the NFL they had to pay the NYGs many millions of dollars because according to the NYGs we invaded there territory so the NYJs had to compensated them for that invasion. Then there is the 1/2 ownership in the stadium. Finally would you rather be the home team in NY or England? When the Dodgers moved from Brooklyn I ditch them
Moving a franchise away from the NYC/Jersey market is a horrible business decision IMO. Most UK fans don't care about American Football and most are into the English Premier League and European Football.
I don't understand the purpose for this thread. I don't recall any "whispers" about the Jets moving anywhere. Just because Woodeye is now the US Ambassador to the UK doesn't mean he's suddenly gonna move the Jets there. That move would make no sense financially or in any other way.
Message boards would be empty if we did not have a thread to post in and it is better than repeating the obvious in the other 320 threads, harmless wondering is all it is about, one thing though not one person wanted it to happen US or UK fans
I'd love it if they moved to London. Then I'd have absolutely no reason to watch or root for them; that's how I know it won't happen.
I regret that I didn't say fukkin' bloody hell son of a prick. We should totally have a cuss thread. You will all lose miserably and cower in shame.
I am a Brit, and a londoner. I would NOT want to see this happen. BUT the NFL is not a fad in London, we now have 4 games a season. People come from all over Europe to watch the games. They are all sold out. BUT, the problem with a london franchise is that it would be that, a team with no history and no support. The games sell out here because they are varied teams, we all support current NFL franchises. So would not change. The Stadium might fill out though, but with people rooting for the opposition. Im happy for it to stay the way it is. 8 games would be nice, With 16 different teams. That way people get to see their team and some top NFL. Some of the supporters here by season tickets for all 4 games even though they may not support one of them. We just want to see NFL. NFL europe failed for 1 reason. We did not want to see 2nd rate players playing. Simple as that. But the NFL is heavily supported in the UK and Germany.
Never will happen. It just does not make any sense. there are no Jets fans over there. The travel would sap anyones energy travelling there 8 times or more a year. Who wants to get up at 2 A.M to watch a game when you have to be at work in 4 hours. I've done that and it sucks. The owner of the Jaguars is from England and he was close to pulling the trigger on that but it fell apart. Just a lousy, lousy idea totally unthinkabe.
