I think adrian jones can play right tackle, he just has to be coached up on not getting beat on the inside moves on playing the right side.
well, not to deflect attention away from the blatant racism present here, but we can debate Kellen's strengths and weaknesses to death. And in the end we don't know shit. More than anything, I wish we could have sat in on the interview process, where they forced the draftees to analyze their own game and talk about what they would do in certain situations. I think more was probably learned in that one interview than in the entire rest of the process. Oh to be Tangini.
First of all, I'm pretty sure that he was kidding. Second, we are overrating Clemens. We took him in round 2, seen a few clips on youtube, and heard Jaworski and Hoge (a guy who we were ripping for dissing Leinart and Young) rave about him, and we think we have Tom Brady. He was a 2nd round pick that we were able to trade down for and still get for a reason. He does nothing great, but he does a lot pretty well. A lot of you guys are saying that he's going to be amazing because he does nothing really badly. Well, if he does nothing badly, either, we have a guy who epitomizes what you want in a backup quarterback, which is what a guy like Scott Young calls Clemens. I like the kid a lot, but I'm wary of Oregon quarterbacks, especially ones without elite athletic ability.
The only reason anyone is making a big deal of his arm is because of nfldraftcountdown. No one else has any concerns about his arm. The two concerns about him are his durability and maybe his height.
I am not even sure where the weak arm stuff came from. I have heard from the beginning, long before the Jets drafted or even reported interest in Kellen, that out of all the pro QB prospects, behind Cutler he had the strongest arm. Where did all this weak arm talk emerge from?
We aren't judging him as a great QB just because of the big throw, but removing any doubt of lack of arm strength.
Maybe your not reading. Im going off of what he said the day we drafted him. Obviously now hes changing his tune. He said he watched tape and that he had a weak arm and was immobile. I simply asked which games were those. IM not sure of your statement you go on to say his arm is "more"then Nfl caliber, then say his arm wasnt great for his entire career ? Okay ?
Im telling you people read nfldraftcountdown.com and quote this guy like hes hall of fame scout or something. The point is he went off another guys "wrong" scouting, and know hes on fire.
I think what it comes down to is, Clemens showed the potential in college, and had a great combine, making him worth taking a gamble on. I'm not going to go out on any limbs and call him the next Tom Brady, but it's clear that there is potential, and if he stays healthy he can certainly become the Jets quarterback of the future. That's the thing with the NFL Draft. You never know who's going to be the busts, and who's going to emerge.
