C'mon now Scots, you have to admit the Jets have been a circus over the last several seasons and this latest incident is just another page in the book. Then again, any publicity is good publicity I suppose so this could be viewed as keeping the Jets in the news without having to play the Tebow card.
This is at the very bottom of ridiculous things the Jets have done to garner media attention. A 20 person brawl makes it seem like a royal rumble going on. McKnight fought our RB's coach Lynn and 2 other DBs came in to his aid then a ton of people from both sides ran in to split it up including Tebow. This kind of stuff happens every year to most teams. I don't think it was our first fight this training camp. McKnight said afterwards that they are over it they were just angry at the time and how much he loves his teammates. I'm more worried about them talking to the media causing problems than getting angry over a late hit after practicing all day.
The thing that bugs me is that the article isn't about the fight that just happened. It could have been written at any time and the names of those fighting just added in later. In fact, it probably was written weeks ago, waiting for an incident to happen to fill in the blanks. The writer has determined his themes for this Jets camp (Sanchez and Tebow are terrible QBs; Jets are a Circus and Ryan doesn't have control) before it started. Sanchez has literally had one bad day in camp and this hack rolls out a 'Sanchez is terrible' article immediately. It's a negative agenda and it's not grounded in reality.
Wow. Sanchez is throwing teammates under the bus. Can't he keep that sort of criticism in the locker room? Why does he have to blab his opinions all over the media? smh
Seriously? Him saying fighting each other, late hits, and throwing balls at teammates is out of line and bad for the team and you have a problem with that? Can someone throw you under a bus already.
Another fight today! http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/sto...-jets-rex-ryan-rips-team-another-camp-scuffle
Yes indeed............. http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2012/08/rex_ryan_orders_jets_to_run_sp.html#incart_river_default
So much for the "good" influence of Tim Tebow's presence. Too bad they act like this in camp, but they don't show this intensity against, oh say, the Steelers, Pats or even the Fish! Cut the whole damn squad now and rebuild. This is what Mr. T has wrought upon us! If Woody has any football sense (which he doesn't), Tannenbaum must be the first one out the door.
The locker room is going to be an absolute disaster this year. Tons of in-fighting and Rex can't even control the team with Tebow on the roster. Not to mention a QB controversy on top of all that...
Too bad Cimini got away with just stratches. I hoped for a concussion... Wouldn't have changed his writing though...
a fight in training camp means the locker room is out of control?yea ok then every team has locker room issues. there is no qb controversy.there is a media fabricated story that no one will let go of because then they would have to do some real reporting.turn off espn for a while and you will be ok.
So when you get in a fight and it's over you can just walk away and never think about it again? BULLSHIT. You're pissed and you hate that guy you just fought with. Many teams have scuffles. The Jets are getting to a point where they are out of control. This is the culture Rex brought in.
This is the only part of your post that matters. You said it yourself, this happens with many teams...when it's the Jets they are "out of control" when it happened with the Pats last week it was "they are just anxious to get out there and hit somebody." It's the double standard of the media. You'd have to be brain dead to not see that things get blown out of proportion with media coverage of the Jets.
So when exactly do we start to worry about this team and its chemistry? Its already appearing as though there are two teams wearing the same unis. Since Ryan is partial to the defense, you have to wonder if they're taking liberties thinking they're the favoured unit. The Offense has been so maligned this offeason that they've got to feel just a bit picked on and now perhaps they're getting a chip on their shoulders. Hopefully, this will all sort itself out during preseason games when they get to hit people from other teams instead of themselves. If not, then yeah, Ryan has some 'plaining to do and PDQ too or the Tristate media will start to circle like the sharks they are.
Teams have scuffles sure. The Jets had one yesterday then followed it up with another today and after Rex chewed their ass, Cromartie started in again and once again, practice stops so the can run sprints instead of practicing. You're in denial to think this does not have an effect on your team. As for the media coverage, the Jets bring it on themselves.
