We always seem to run to the same spot of those plays from the one. They never work, byt we keep running behind Clement and Moore. We also keep throwing fades to guys who are UNDER 6 feet tall. I am concerned that Schott might be on crack. KC has not impressed. He is tough, can move around, but he has no weapons, and I really mean none. The Jets have to upgrade this offense big time. Still, 6 starts. Aikman won 1 game his first year.Geez, Vinnie Testaverde stunk it up too, and he stuck around a while.
this post is nonsence...puttin chad back in is taking 10 steps back...THIS TEAM IS REBUILD MODE...CLEMENS NEEDS TO FINISH OUT THE SEASON...
Why in god's holy hell would we start Chad. Clemens won't learn by sitting on the bench and we won't know what we've got with him that way either. I think Clemens has shown some signs of promise, but it's hard to tell with the OL he's behind. Give him some time.. he's already playing better than Chad.
Clemens' YPA is 6.3, Chad's was 6.93 and in 34 less pass attempts Chad had 5 more Tds than KC has right now. I love how its thecrappy playcalling NOW and the receivers are dropping balls NOW but when Chad was in there and we had thesame placalling and th same receivers dropping balls it was all Chad's fault. and I thought once strong armed KC came in Jones' #s would go up? Eve though Jones appears to be running better now w/ Chad he had 107 attempts for 42 yards(3.92 YPC) and w/ KC 148 attempts for 524 yards(3.54). I am NOT giving up on Clemens but he's been awful and has not been sowing signs of progress. The one attribute I love is that no matter how bad he plays he doesn't allow it to affect the next play or the next drive BUT he continues to play awful football for themajority of games and that's a bad sign.
Wow, you're officially getting old and loopy. Not that I'm an old bat or anything. Snicker. Next thing you know, you'll start mumbling like Steve McQueen. Was he born with marbles in his mouth or something? I used to wonder about that as a kid. Er, I really did. "What did he say?" "Who the hell knows..."
I've figured out why so many people here hate you, it's because you're one of the only people who knows what the fuck they're talking about and it rubs people the wrong way. Regarding Clemens, I wouldn't say he's been awful. He has moved the team, we're just not getting points at the end of drives, which was also happening with Chad. That leads me to believe that it's for reasons beyond what the QB is doing. In some cases it's been the QB, in a lot of cases it hasn't. My favorite thing about Clemens that I didn't expect was how he can run for yardage to keep drives going. He hasn't done it the past few games, a few times Sunday it may have been the thing to do.
Exactly what the CS and other players were all saying when Chad took a backseat. But hey, why listen to any of them, right? They are just protecting their bud. :breakdance: Nevertheless, the second half of the season is an excellent time to get Clemens some reps and while I agree he has looked like Penny in the first half of the year for the most part, you can't really expect a whole lot and see significant improvement behind a team as bad as this one is playing.
If McCareins drops a perfectly thrown game winner this Sunday, I may be sick for the rest of my life. I would rather see the ball balloon in the wind and get intercepted and run back all the way for a TD than watch JMac miss another one in a critical situation near the end of the game.
Just wondering.... AYFKM? Pennington = Veteran QB. Clemens = 1st time player. Given that Coles got hurt on the second play of the Pittsburgh game, (Clemens 2nd cons. start), and then Cotchery broke his finger 2 weeks later, how can you even call that comparison in CHADS favor????? (Oh, and BTW....considering the experience level between them, they are both throwing Pics at the same RATE...approx 1 per 27 pass attempts)
That's very overrated, Chad and Clemens are both in their 2nd year with this offense. If Clemens was such an upgrade we would at least have seen a tangible difference by now in points. I'll remind you also that Clemens has already thrown about as many red zone picks in his career as Chad has in his, it's not all about game experience.
The difference is Chad should know how to read the opposing teams Defense with five years experience. You will see a difference in Points next year when Clemens gets comfortable with the offense and they design plays for a Qb who can stretch the field. I will trade picks for points. All the great ones throw picks trying to make plays with the exception of Montana. Do you realize we are rebuilding and this mess will take time to fix. Not five games but at least a year to see progress? So your saying it's not about game experience? If that is the case then there should be no such thing as a rookie. Everybody should be able to come in and play without ever playing in an nfl game right? Basically you want Chad to be the NYJ's Qb no matter how bad he plays?
This offense was built for Chad and he has had the luxury of being the starter with it day one in training camp last year. Clemens at best got reps as the No. 3 last year and the No. 2 in TC this year. Clemens first week of full reps with this O was the bye week.
Was he playing against Cleveland? They were last in the league in defense and we did the same shit we've done all year, minus Miami games, regardless of which guy was in at QB. Fool. The offense was not built for Chad. When this staff took over they didn't even know if Chad would ever play again, that's one reason Clemens was drafted. Chad wasn't the starter from day one, either, he won the job and obviously got the first team reps, but Clemens has been in this offense with this staff the exact same amount of time that Chad has. Besides, if you watch the games you'll see that knowing the offense hasn't been his problem--hitting open receivers and getting out of the way of the pass rush have been his biggest problems.
