Wow I didn't know all that, Rex is such a boob. Brown basically came straight from high school to the pro's, he's not gonna be polished without some coaching.
Better hope the QB can make plays at the end of the games to win - otherwise they ain't the 2010 Jets. McCoy the thing is, always ran in a zone scheme - this is a different scheme, will he have the same success?
Bryce Brown played his way out of playing time because of fumbling issues in Philly and has done the same in Buffalo, both last year and so far this training camp. He literally lost us the KC game last year on one play. You can't trust a guy like that and can't afford to have him lose games when each game matters so much. His talent isn't the issue, he racks up yards every time he's in there. It's a shame he can't figure out a way to fix it. If you watch him run, it almost looks like he doesn't even try to hold the ball close the way he swings it out away from his body. That hasn't changed. Rex has nothing to do with with keeping/cutting Fred. Nearly all sources close to the team say they were this close to cutting him this offseason and when Bills fans found out and freaked, Pegula stepped in and nixed the cut and said he stays. Not Rex's fault when the owner steps in. Whaley was going to cut him. He doesn't add much on the field any more but he is a team leader and we don't have many veterans on offense. I'm not sad he's staying. I love Boobie Dixon and he would always have a place on my football team. Fantastic special teams player (blocked 2 punts last year against division rivals), really good tough runner (not flashy or elite) and has a great presence in the locker-room. I keep a guy like that over Bryce Brown any day.
Aww, did 20cent get a boo boo. His exile in the Siberia of the NFL will be fun to watch. I bet Chip Kelly already has the popcorn ready.
Dude, Bryce Brown's fumble didn't cost us the game against KC. This is the most ignorant belief when it comes to that game. Kyle Orton's 0-4 pass attempts from the 20 yard line trying to throw to the end zone instead of getting chunks of yards for a first down, McKelvin's fumble that KC ended up scoring on giving them the lead. Those costed us every bit as much as Brown's fumble. He fumbled less than Fred Jackson last year, but I don't hear anyone trying to push him out the door because of it. Fumbling issues can be corrected, ask Tiki Barber. The posters that said Brown was a solid back were right. He played a damn good game against the Panthers and didn't cough it up, and with our injuries piling up at RB, he may end up being on the roster come opening day. As for McCoy, he'll be ready to go by week 1. At least his injury didn't come like after week 2 of the regular season. If Brown continues to contribute in the pre season, then Dixon could very well be the odd man out.
