I would love to have Leonhard back, look at how the Jets defense collapsed in Phili after he got hurt. He knows the system and adds more depth. The more depth the merrier.
That's because he is the quarterback of the defense and why he was originally brought from Baltimore to run it. He calls the plays when he is in and nobody knows the defense as well as he does. Both last year and the year before we got noticibly worse when he went out.
Even if we draft two safeties I want him back. He can teach the new guys the system, he's better than anyone on the roster there when he's healthy, and bringing him back would only add to the possibilities of sticking Eric Smith back in the (only) place where he belongs - special teams. Plus he's a 5-8 white guy that can dunk. http://www.newyorkjets.com/photos-a...Leonhard/a10f7fc3-5713-49df-ac5f-2ea846b83dde That's worth the vet minimum all by itself.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I also really feel that it must be pointed out how much of a fucking chore it looks like for Leonhard's hands to elevate all the way to the rim with the ball in his possession. You can just see gravity screaming at him those last couple inches. Back on the ground white boy! But then he sneaks it in the hoop. By the time his feet hit the ground he's just smiling from the little miracle he has just created.
Lenny goes down two years in a row and both times our defense looks like they do not know where to be on the field. He definitely adds rather then being a liability.
