everybody said the same thin about tiki when he came in the NFL, its not about the size but about the heart this kid has. Everytime we need a big play and they put the ball in his hand he does something amazing. besides the 100+ receiving yards he had over 4 yards per carry against on of the top D's in the NFL.
keep in mind... he had 20 something yards rushing and 108 receiving... Yes we do need a feature back. Good game out there tho leon!
Leon Washington Is Our X-factor Boy! What A Run To Lead The Team To That Field Goal Chance And The Win!
Leon "Wild Thing" Washington!!!!!! That is what I will nick-name this guy after tonight. It was generally a team win that wasn't ultra pretty because it was bad weather and Miami did come to play as we knew they would. At the end of the game when it was all on the line Leon Washington turns a 3 yard pass into a 70 yarder; just incredible!!!!! What a game. A classic. Even though it was only a 30 yard kick by Nugent to win the game, it was a money kick. The kind of kick that can end your career if you miss. Nugent drilled it with authority. Job well done!!!!!! Leon "Wild Thing" Washington; great game my man. You made the difference between playing hard and losing versus playing hard and winning. Let's take this momentum and kick the daylights out of Oakland. Let's play playoff football. J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets. "Wild Thing", I think I love you, but I want to know for sure................come on, hit it guys.............yeah!!!!!!!!
Yeah on 6 carries, avg 4.3 ypc. I can guarantee you, if he gets 20 carries a game, he breaks 100 yd rushing every time. The heavy turtle barlow showed his uselessness off tonight again.
So basically, you think he's the greatest RB in NFL history? Anyway, Leon is very good in the role he played tonight. It's still very much up in the air if he can handle the workload of a full-time NFL starter, and produce.
Agreed. Good change of pace back, possibly line him up at WR a couple times, he should get around 15 touches again, between recieving and rushing. Still not the answer as a full time back, IMO.
Agreed, other than a couple of 100 yard games, one in wash up time vs. Jacksonville, he really hasn't been that great running the football over the course of the season. He's a fantastic change of pace back, and great in the role that he played tonight. He could possibly be a feature back, but whether he can or cannot remains to be seen and for now he's probably better with a "power" compliment (but not Barlow).
I love this guy. He has a lot of work to do still though. Especially in the blocking department. But I am definately loving Neon Leon! He will be a huge part of the NYjets for a long time to come hopefully.
Strangely enough, I uttered the same phrase during the game. Then I caught myself. Also, how huge was the Brad Smith catch. Two fourth rounders made the key plays tonight. I kept saying after the Kassel ST debacle: "good teams win these games." And guess what!
