I also read that today. I don't know how long it has been there but they led you to believe it was recent. Here it is. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/jets/2009/08/12/2009-08-12_leon_washington.html
The story on the website is dated today, hjn tweeted his post 37 minutes ago. Don't know if it's new information or slow release!
hmm - I wonder what the previous offer was then. Maybe Keels wasn't so out of line after all. Hopefully he takes the 4.5 a year. That seems fair to all parties.
Agreed. This clears up a good deal of confusion. I've thought $4 - 5 million per was the right number. Let's hope for a quick resolution and getting Leon extended finally.
Leon Leon's security is as important to Jets fans as America's security is to all of us. No exaggeration. Right now we are on a level Red or whatever the highest color code is for our security. if this guy doesn't get inked we need to make some serious front office decisions. to assemble a monster o-line with no back is a waste of money and talent. although t jones got us 1300 last year i think if Leon had the same amount of touches he would have gave us 2000 easily. the only downside is his frame. Can he be an every down back in this league? if we trade t jone im sure we will find out this year.
Rotoworld is saying that the initial offer was an insulting 2.0 million per year. If this is true, its easy to see why Leon was discouraged.... Lets hope he signs on for this much...
