Shawn Merrimen coming out of college 8.5 sacks 85 tackles and 17 for a loss

Demarcus Ware coming out of college 10.5 sacks 53 tackles and 19 for a loss

Vernon Gholston 13 sacks 48 tackles and 14 for a loss

If there was a re-draft, those two would both go in the top five seeing how they are out performing everybody from that draft pretty much. So Vernon at 6 isn't really a stretch if he is that good.

Vernon is his own man though. And if stats were everything, he is probably the pass rusher of the bunch and atleast as good of a run stopper as Dware, seeing as Ware played at a DI school which would account for the 5 stops in the back field difference. I'm warming up to taking this guy......

I think we need a 3-4 DE. My pick would be Calais Cambell. Watch him shoot up after the combine.

I rather have Rey Maualuga than Laurinitis, but not with the #6 pick of course.

I know it's just about impossible... But I would love to Draft Gholston & Kenny Phillips, lol... We need to keep J.Vilma as our #2 ILB in the 3-4 Defense, but I would honestly trade Chad Pennington and maybe even next years 1st for a chance at Phillips and Gholston this year

Maualuga's not coming out him and and Cushing are staying. So with that i rather do what someone said before ive wanted Gibril for a long ass time now to be on our team for a while now and with him being a free agent i hope the fo gets him and either drfats Gholston or trades down.

Campbell is way too much of a developmental prospect right now. Great size and frame, but he really needs to stay in school.

He'd be terrible as a 3-4 end though.

I also would like to sign Gibril. He is a playmaker, hard hitting, good tackling safety.

Yep. I'm starting to think him at DE/OLB isn't crazy.

There are just two questions on that, both speed related:

    1) Is he fast enough to keep containment on outside runs?
    2) Can he drop back into coverage well?

    1) He will keep containment on outside runs more so because he's fundamentally sound as opposed to speed.

    2) He can do but it certainly not a strenght.
