Fitz threw a nice ball to Marshall and Decker for TD's. He was throwing his receivers open a lot today actually. He had a very nice touch throw to Marshall early that Marshall dropped due to the hit of the second defender. Fitz is a guy that just has to manage the game, someone who needs to rely on the playmakers and defense to carry him to a win, he just has to contribute to the cause in a positive way. I understand not praising Fitz but I don't understand trying to complete discredit the guy. It should be a happy medium there. I am happy we won, I am happy we look like a team that can compete effectively In this league, and I am most pleased with this coaching staff. They should get the majority of the praise. They have done all the right things in the off season, their scheme is sound, and they actually made significant adjustments in the game. This is the most refreshing thing about today for me. I liked Rex but I'm glad he is gone, especially after seeing this coaching staff work today and the adjustments that were made on both sides of the ball. Rex was WAY to stubborn with his scheme to do that, he truly believes his scheme can not be beat and he would never adjust here with the NYJ because he always wanted to prove that his scheme was the best and could beat any situation. We found out, that wasnt true.
Enjoyed the win. Did what they had to. Marshall is really good and Fitz was fine. The Browns are not going to win many games. Johnny Football is really careless with the ball and will struggle going forward. Expect teams to load up and try to stop the run and force Fitz to throw more early. He has been in the league a long time and he will be as good as his teammates allow him to be. Don't expect miracles. Defense only takes you so far in this league. These coaches seem to understand the NFL Expect them to get Geno ready at some point. Nice win for Buffalo. Someone said that Rex can always coach defense against one dimensional teams. That's what the Colts are.
I don't. Then again, I dont really care because the "what if" game is extremely pointless. I will just continue to base my opinion around the facts that are, not what couldve been.
I don't think Geno would have played even this well, then again he never had a Marshall to lean on before either.
Fitz was decent but imo Geno's detractors would've been harping on the bad. Based on how this board is I don't think it's farfetched at all.
So I can see you're being stubborn and will just refuse to give him credit (why? I have no idea). But no one said he had a great game, but he did have a good game, and that's a fact. And I'll leave it at that.
That's probable but I dont worry about that because frankly, most people on this board are not that football savy. ..or base their opinion strictly off of emotion, instead of reality and level headiness. Right now, Fitz is our QB, he just has to continue to be a solid contributor and we should be in most of these games.
I give him credit but It just amazes me how so many people are talking like he's some savior for this team. We'd win this game I with Geno, Sanchez or hell probably even Petty. That's fine he did ok but I'm not going to sit here and ignore all the mistakes that will come back to kill us later on. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
sanchez/geno played bad teams too. and sucked badly. fitz wasnt special vs a great team today, but he wasnt the worst qb in football today, which was usually the case for us the past 4 seasons
no, not every qb. geno would have likely sucked today. same with sanchez. because they cant hit open wideouts and panic and when they make a mistake they go into a downward spiral isntead of just moving on.
Please get over this Fitz love. He has better weapons than Geno ever had. And when Sanchez had weapons we went to back to back afc title games. He looked better because he has pro bowl caliber talent around him. Not because he's that good. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
i dont know. we were great throwing on 3rd down. we were great throwing in the redzone. i cant remeber the last time you can say that. we also got down early, and didnt fold. maybe we win with those other guys, but those other guys rarely came through on 3rd down or in the redzone
when sanchez had weapons he still sucked balls. we made it inspite of him. he looked better because when he had a wide open WR he didnt sail it out of bounds and he didnt make horrible panic decisions pulling the ball down and scrmabling into trouble. he did little things those guys didint do. he set up screens well(sanchez couldnt throw screens at all) he was accurate on third downs he isnt a savior, but he also wasnt a guy we had to try to win inspite of or overcome. he wasnt an anchor like geno and sanchez were
I don't know what fantasy world you guys live in sometimes, but I guarantee if Marshall doesn't rip that ball out, you wouldn't be saying that. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
i dont see how. fitz bounced back well after that pick. he completed like 75% of his throws after that including 2 really good touchdown throws in tight windows. geno/sanchez usually went to crap after a mistake.
You're just saying anything without facts. Facts were that last 4 weeks of last season Geno was a top qb. So he didn't always just suck and we certainly didn't win all those games, so he must not have sucked too bad. The coaching staff certainly didn't have any plans to play Fitzpatrick over Geno barring an injury so that tells you something. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
geno was complete trash last year. playing well in 4 meaningless games to the end the year doesnt amount to much. he was one of the 5 worst qbs in football last season. no one is calling fitz some all-pro player who will win us games. but if he can be below average to average instead of being the worst qb in football we might keep games close enough to steal some of them.
