In my experience, it seems as you move away from the BS forum and towards the main parts of the boards, the stupidity level rises by a large degree...

Funny how whenever you you post somewhere, the level of "faggot asshole" skyrockets.

I'm not saying you are one, just saying that the levels jump when you post there.

    Purely coinciental.

NFL.com's Albert Breer reports mediator Arthur Boylan has ordered NFL and *NFLPA leaders to meet with him on July 19 to update the status of the CBA talks.

According to Breer, anyone with "full settlement authority" is expected to make the trek to Minnesota. Boylan was a key figure in turning around talks that had turned ugly last week, and meeting with him could be prove to be an important motivating factor in getting a deal done.

So we are planning a meeting to talk about the CBA 4 days after the last possible date that we can get this agreement done by without losing any of the preseason.

(I am hoping this meeting is in regards to the legal jargon that is going on because otherwise this is retarded)

If we do not get a deal done by the 15th we are in serious shit. SERIOUS SHIT!

1 lost week of football = 200mil less for the owners

more importantly revenue drops by 200 mil making the salary cap lowered

Owners and Players getting less money then the amount they were previously pissed off about = DISASTER

I would hardly consider missing one or two preseason games akin to disaster. You may want to take up fishing or basket weaving to calm your nerves.

No preseason is fine with me. It's $450 less in tickets for me this year and I'm not worried about my team being ready to play.

This lockout really must have had a negative impact on the Pittsburgh area rape kit suppliers.

Chris Mortensen reporting that the players want four years to free agency for rookies, while the owners want five.

If the owners cave and agree to four years, the deal is essentially done.

I agree with you on that. Then again if preseason games aren't played I think it will be harder to get a deal done before the first regular season game is played.

If that's the truth, then I'm now rooting for the owners. I'll take one week of preseason with Holmes and Edwards rather than a full preseason without one of them.

if thats the case with the owners, they are most likely going to win. i cannot see the players surviving longer. if you look at random NFL player twitters, they are all shitting themselves right now, basically posting "need work, bluh bluh bluh"

As far as I understand it at the moment the owners want rookie contracts, under a hard cap number, to last for five years, with the ability to renegotiate at 2 years (in case you get Jamarcus Russell).

The players want rookie contracts, under a hard cap (both sides agree upon them), to last 4 years with the ability to renegotiate at three years.

I believe the 2/3 year renegotiation option can be initiated by either side - as in the Raiders want to be able to restructure Jamarcus Russel, and the players want to make sure that if the next Tom Brady shows up he can renegotiate his deal at two years.

The sticking point at the moment is strictly about the rookie contracts as far as I know.
