You want Blah Blah Blah...Give Clemens a chance, he has showed moments of brilliance( WTF), 6 games is not enough. Blah Blah Blah. He is not the answer, he will not be our Qb , he will be traded within next 3 years., Has shown nothing. About killed Coles 2 times over the middle with passes he had all day to throw. Is Chad the answer Prolly not. But if I have to choose between a guy who can hit and open receiver ( however long it takes ) and one who can"t the one who can wins everytime. Not sure what game Clemens supporters are watching. I have watched games with people who both know football and those who don't . Their opinion was unanimous. Clemens sucks. Maybe he is suffering from the David Carr syndrome , and has been hit to many times hard so even when he has time he misses. So I would not mind trying him out with a decent line. But if he doesnt do it after that Bu Bye

What's inaccurate about what I said?

In 2004 our defense shut out opponents in the 2nd half of game seven times in sixteen regular season games. Curtis Martin led the league in rushing...

Chad played better than he has since 2002, and I acknowledged that in my previous post, but he was NOT the reason we got to the AFCD round, and almost to the AFCC game. We were an EXCELLENT all around team that year.

And since then? In 2006 he threw 17 TDs and 16 INTs.... People praised him because we went 10-6, but he was not a good QB, by any stretch of the imagination, and there were many of us on here who recognized it, and knew we weren't going anywhere in the playoffs with him at the helm....

This is Classic! They could also give Randy Moss a show and call it how I turned Chad Pennington from a Fifth Round pick into a first Rounder.

For the record it was one of Chad's fludders that got Coles Concussed to the point of needing a diaper for the rest of his life the next time he gets hit! Clemens did not throw the pass that got Coles rocked this year!

Cotchery has dropped more of Kellen's passes than he has dropped of Chad's passes, if my count is right.

Even if we get to the Playoffs and get home field we will be out in the first round with Chad at the helm! At some point he has to make a play like Eli did in the first round and he has not been able to do that since 2002. Six years is more than enough time to wait! It's Clemens or Bust!

Thank you for answereing my question. I knew it was different games we were watching. No I am not talking about that game I am well aware of that game cause Clemens lovers have spoke of little else. What they failed to notice were the 2 times that Clemens did it to coles after he came back in far worse fashion. And yet you didnt see it.

I think we are spending too much $$$ to bust. Perhaps we really do need two QBs who understand and can run the BS offense. Perhaps their competition will make them both better, and the best man will win out. Perhaps this OL will REALLY pass block well AND run block well. The BS Offense to be effective does not have to have Peyton Manning or Tom Brady to run it, but it DOES need an OL to pass block AND run block.

I think those of us who enjoy debating the relative value (or lack thereof) of Kellen versus Chad would do well to wait and see whether we do indeed have an OL worthy of the BS offense.

Then we can have some fun verbally AS WELL AS on the field....!

    Chad can still play

First off, I am tired of watching Penny's floating pick 6 balls landing in the hands of eager defenders. However, this guy can still win with the right squad around him, he just doesnt have the tools to take a team on his back and win by himself, a la Brady/manning(s). Please recall that he outplayed Tom Brady in the 2nd New England game coming off the bench. If not for Droppy McSlapnutz at receiver that game would have been very very tight right to the end. With a run threat, and more than 3 seconds to throw (remember Clemmons was getting murdered last year as well), Chad can still get the job done.

That being said, I won't shed a tear if Kellen beats him out for the job. Great Offensive lines make good RB's and great QB's.

    Playoffs 08 anyone?:breakdance::beer::breakdance:

He is not used to seeing passes coming at more than two miles an Hr. The whole team has to get readjusted to receiving passes from an Nfl calibur Qb!

Coles was fully stretched out in the air and the Qb had a ten yard running start to hit him from Chads pass. How much worse can you get. I take your word regarding the CLemens passes as well.

This may sound kind of selfish and some may think "well it's all about winning games". But im just not ready to watch another chad pennington boring ass offense again this season. With Clemens atleast, there are times it gets exciting, sometimes good things and some times bad. But either way, it's always got a chance to keep you at the edge of your seat :)

your argument lost credibility when you said Clemens is the guy. Could he be the guy? Possibly. But to say he IS the guy after the shit streak he layed on the field in 97 is ridiculous.

Actually, the attitude of the ball has more to do with whether he catches or not. Kellen tends to throw a hard ball with the point slanted downward which is a bitch to catch for even the best WR. The preferred attitude of the ball is with the point in line with the trajectory or tilted slightly up. WRs always have better results with balls thrown in the latter two ways. To throw a ball with these "preferred attitudes" on time and in the right place takes a lot of reps with each receiver to get back to the velocity you had with the ball pointing downward.

Check out Brady's ball and check out Payton's ball -- both of them are in-line or pointed slightly up most of the time.

    It's preferred.

This is usually the reason behind a drop, not the QB's "NFL professionalism."

Nope, Clemens threw the pass that effectively ended Coles season when he hurt his ankle on an underthrown deep ball.

I think that when there are no opportunities to throw downfield, there is no running game, and the two receivers you can get out are butt n hooked at 8 yards and squared out at 6 yards that it is a really boring offense. However, this was largely an OL problem in 07 for all the skill players. None of the WRs or RBs or QBs ever really had much of a chance.
