Puck...I'm glad you bumped the Revis rookie thread, maybe it will shake some sense in some numbskulls that overreact.

Kyle will is in the perfect situation being a NY Jet in Rex's defense and being close to home is a bonus.

Just because you don't hear his name alot, it doesn't automatically means he's playing well

Re-watch the game and focus on him, you will see that there are plenty of plays that he got away with fucking up

An example was on one the Dolphins FG drives late in the game. On the play where Cro almost picked off Henne. Wilson got beat so bad by Hartline, it wasn't even close. But Henne seem like he decided that he was going to throw the ball to Marshall as soon as he snapped the ball, he din't realise that he had Hartline WIDE OPEN in the middle of the endzone. If we're playing a better QB, that's a TD and it might have cost us the game

Another play , i think it was earlier in same drive or the next, he got away with an obvious holding call. I was shocked when i saw it re-watching the game that the refs didn't call it. Maybe they thought he jammed him or something but it wasn't. he was pretty much hugging the guy coming accross the middle of the field.

The whole theory that if you don't hear a DBs name, he's playing well is not always right.

Now i'm not saying that this guy is not going to have a nice career, that he's a bust already. But right now, he is not playing "very well". He is being outplayed by freaking Coleman, that's not good.(and no i didn't say that just because he had that INT)

He probably has a great future in front of him but if the jets really plan on contending for a superbowl this season, it's not time to be playing around with guys who aren't ready yet. I'm not saying they should bench him completely, but i think they should take a bit of the load of him and make him share some playing time with another DB. I know Lowery and Coleman are not great, but right now they can't be any worse

I'm neither bashing the kid nor calling him a bust. I just can't tell. But his propensity to still not turn his head is killing me. At what point does it become ok to discuss where the kid needs to or should already be (but isn't) developing?

Revis didn't turn his head for a while in his rookie season.

I know its frustrating, but he'll get it. He's too good not to.

You can defend Wilson w/o having to compare him to Revis. Frankly, I find comparing their rookie struggles an insult to Revis.

    Why?

Only because Revis had a insane 09 season. Rookies are always compared, just look last year how many different rookie QB's were brought up.

Thank you sir............That was exactly what I was trying to accomplish.

No he is an expert and has to set us straight. It is a perfectly reasonable to compare their rookie years so far.

I compare one aspect of their struggles.

Revis had a better rookie season. That's undeniable.

I was pointing out a similarity.

Definitely frustrating. I'm rooting for the kid to get it, because I liked him in college and was thrilled by the pick. Monday night will be an interesting test for him going against a QB who just likes to chuck the ball up for grabs.

Why don't I see any of you clowns bashing Mark Sanchez for going to USC?

Oh wait, you DID try that and failed miserably.

    Who is bashing Mark?????

And..while you're up on your high horse, you might want to take your complaint to Bart Scott, since...that's his joke.

    (you know...the obligatory HK reference...)

I can see how overreacting and calling Wilson a bust is not justified yet, but I don't see Kyle Wilson as being a playmaker. He's a rookie with common first year issues in a fast paced league, but I see him as being mediocre at best. I can see him being a 3rd string CB and nothing more.

I hope he proves me wrong, but not turning around and always chasing a caught pass doesn't make me think he will.

Just to clarify, you think he is having normal rookie issues, but because he is having the issues 98% of rookies have, he will be nothing more than mediocre?

Ok thanks for clarifying that there is a serious disconnect between your two statements there...

This... he'll develop into a pretty good corner... atm he's already a good nickel. Sure, not the greatest CB on the outside (atm) but he'll get there... we are all used to having Revis...
