I remember being torn between sticking with Sam for one year and looking at QBs this draft and taking one last year. I think it was clearly the right decision based on what people think the highest rated QBs are this year. Think all 5 of them last year would be the #1 overall pick this year for Detroit

The lifelong pessimist in me would think that our CS would take Kyle Hamilton & put him at LB just like they did w/Sherwood & Nasirildeen.
I support this CS --- but only to a certain point. Those 2 aforementioned guys are NOT linebackers.........in any scheme

I would think even they would see Hamilton is too versatile to be pegged into 1 spot. To me what he offers is a true ability to play any kind of coverage. He can play deep halves, single high, or rotate to underneath zones or man up and actually win reps. I think with him you can man up in 11 personnel and not get repeatedly punked by TE’s on 3rd down, even vs good TE’s.

Man I would check out on this CS if they wasted Kyle Hamilton at LB exclusively. You don't do that to an elite prospect unless they are out of position already.

At this point, the secondary needs a significant upgrade. Hall can't do it all on his own. As long as this guy pull the same antics Jamal did....

The kind of range Hamilton shows on the second play of this clip should tell anyone that keeping him in one place is a waste of resources.

It would indeed be awesome if that happened, but as you said, not likely for a couple of reasons. One, I don't think the Jets would be that lucky to have all those players fall to them. Two, and perhaps more importantly, I can't see them waiting until the 3rd round to take an Edge. I know nothing about Ebikete, and had never even heard of him, but I just don't see the Jets passing up on Karlaftis or Ojabo. I also don't think Burks falls that far into the 2nd round, if at all. I think he's more likely to go in the 1st round. Initially, I was against taking Hamilton, but the idea is growing on me. We need a ball hawk/playmaker in the secondary and Hamilton would make it a lot better.

I think this draft is not very good at the top. I would prefer we split our 1st round picks and move down in the draft. We have so many holes 1 or 2 players won't fill the roster. Plus top tier FAs won't go to the Jets as they like to play for winning organizations.

After some serious soul searching by yours truly, not picking an absolute stud of a Safety with such a range of positional talent simply because it would make the fan base unhappy based on our previous safety selection binge is insane. He would be an absolute massive upgrade to our secondary and arguably go a long way in fixing our weakest area. If the two pass rushers are gone, this pick has to be seriously considered.

He sure as hell wouldn’t have given up that TD throw by Brady on Sunday.

I think he'll be there at 7 for us, that would be ideal.

I like the player I just don’t like spending a high pick on a safety…

Kyle Hamilton is awesome, there’s no denying that…

Ranking the positions on importance in our defense I’d go:

    DE
    DT
    LB
    S
    CB

I just can’t see a scenario where we pick that position in the top 5. Definitely won’t be mad about it but I don’t see it happening.
