Jon Kitna made the first move Tuesday for what will be a busy day for NFL quarterbacks by agreeing to a four-year deal with the Detroit Lions. Terms of the four-year contract weren't available, Kitna visited the Jets and Lions and was under consideration by the Ravens. He sensed something was going to happen with another team over the weekend when he told the Bengals he would not be returning. In response, the Bengals brought in Rams quarterback Jamie Martin for a visit. Kitna's decision could heat up talks between the Redskins and the Jets for Redskins quarterback Patrick Ramsey. The Redskins want to move Ramsey on Tuesday in a trade. Detroit, the Jets and the Dolphins were the teams talking to the Redskins http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2368184
We bit our nose to spite our face. We helped drive the qb price up and by not signing one at a given price will now have to sign one at an exoborent price. Not a smart move and perhaps inexperience is showing??
Bollinger is just as good as Ramsey, especially with a good O-line. Not sure 'good' applies to either players, but you get my point. Just draft a QB and start grooming. Let's pray Chad can stay healthy. Maybe every play he could be in the shotgun and just hand the ball right to Curtis. Hard to get Chad hurt that way! Sorry C-mart!
boy are you in for a rude a wakening. Looks like the jokes on us if we pull this trade. Here's something for you'll to think of. Why is it that WE are the only ones mentioned when it comes to ramsey? because other teams know that to trade for ramsey is assinine when he will eventually get cut and they don't see him as others on this board do. Just remember when he throws int's in the redzone that cost us the game this was the qb you wanted. i much rather put my hope on a rookie qb than ramsey. this is bad news for us. i hate to think that the danny is going to fleece us again.
Oh well, there's one option gone. Hmmmm, I am still not sure on Ramsey. Choices are becoming limited. Too bad the Redskins are pretty much out of the FA race for a DE or we may have been able to put together a good deal that would have involved us not giving up any picks. Don't worry, I wasn't talking about a player for a player swop here. I meant something like Ramsey and a couple of decent picks for Abe. Oh, well, that won't happen. I am starting to perceive Abraham as potential trouble now. His asking price is currently pretty damned high. I think he has priced himself out of some team's bankbook. What this tells me is ha may be an FA for a lot longer than I originally thought. I suppose the only cnadidates that can do something right now are Denver, Seattle, and the Lions. I do't give the Lions much chance though.
What are you talking about? Ramsey is under contract and will be quite cheap this year.... I just checked the numbers, Ramsey is scheduled to make 1.7million this year.
Good. I like Ramsey, as I think he has alot of potential that could be realized in the right situation
good, kitna wanted money and years, for a vet who's really just a good backup at least if we get ramsey, if he sucks we'll let him walk after the season mccown is bad, he's mentally screwed up a bit and was never all that good, his decent stats at times we're because of players around him, why do you think nobody has even touched him?
Don't be cackling just yet homey.... "The Redskins want to move Ramsey on Tuesday in a trade. Detroit, the Jets and the Dolphins were the teams talking to the Redskins" http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2368184
I am starting to think this makes the most sense along with our newly acquired draft pick QB. I would not hold it against Mangini if we went this route at all.
GOOD. Kitna sucks. Ramsey's no prize either, but at least there's potential upside (if he actually gets a little pass protection).
