That makes me a whole lot less confident in MacCagnan. For them to agree to a 3-year guaranteed contract for $90+ million would have been just about the stupidest thing imaginable given where they are and how long it will take for them to become a legitimate Super Bowl contender. As you say, TDK, we all owe Cousins a heartfelt thanks for saving the Jets from their own stupidity.
That's a report from Manish. NFL netwNet reported earlier today that the Jets offer was 5 years 90 guaranteed. Typical Mheta BS. I expect he will have 2 - 3 more BS stories from his "sources " at one Jets drive by tomorrow if not sooner.
Obviously completely different, and much more reasonable. I wonder if we'll ever really know which it was, but at least that report makes me feel a lot better about Macc not being an idiot. If the Jets would say that Manish's story is complete garbage it would go a long way to getting him gone, which would be a good thing.
