And this is why you almost never trade future 1st round picks. An injury like this could be a blow to them.
Sucks to hear about this; you never want to see a player with star potential get injured so early on in both Offseason and his career. If Sammy Watkins doesn't make an immediate impact, it could be a long year and even longer Offseason next year for Buffalo.
Even if Watkins does make an impact, other things have to go totally right for the Bills. Losing a great player in Alonso will hurt the defense.
Agreed 100%. With the exception of Eli Manning, (I know) - I cant remember a draft day tradeup in which a future 1st rounder was surrended and it didnt come back to haunt the team that surrended it. Shawn Merriman was the Giants 1st rounder the next year, but his career ended up being cut short and the Giants won 2 Super Bowls with Manning. In retrospect, that Robert Griffith trade looks like a disaster..........for the Redskins.
He was drafted by the Chargers, and never played for the Giants. The trade was a great deal for the Rams, but it's still too early to judge it 100%. IF RG3 comes back this year totally healthy, and plays to the level he played his rookie year, and continues to make strides, it will be a great trade for them too, because franchise QBs are priceless.
