Well for his sake he better get it right this time…..personally I’m expecting a big name or at least a respected one.
If O'Connell doesn't shake free from Minnesota next year, I would love it if the Jets would look at McCown for either OC, depending on who the new HC is, or for HC itself. Or O'Connell could bring him with him if he were to somehow end up in the Jets HC job.
They’re not going to move him unfortunately. I don’t think he ever wanted anything to do with McCarthy. He’s publicly trashed his footwork and other aspects of his game even if it’s in a nice way. But yeah man, I’d give a first up for him.
I’d love to have him. Period. He’d be the best coach we’ve had since Parcells probably…but for sure since Rex. That GM deserved to be fired…they won 14 games with Darnold and let him go for nothing to ride some untested rookie’s shoulders, because that’s the kid the GM drafted. So you give up a sure 14 wins for the chance of maybe matching it. Made zero sense, and they deserved what they got Why do so many of these guys think they’re the smartest guys in the room??? SMH
Because people, like Woody Johnson, stand there and get sunshine and rainbows blown up their ass about this or that "up and coming" coach or GM and half the time it's the Good ole' Boy Network in full swing. That and an ass load of nepotism. It's really quite astonishing. There are a handful of posters on this site who I value their football acumen far more than anything the Jets have trotted out there in the last 15 years. @Jonathan_Vilma @ouchy @Rockinz for example. No sleight to anyone else, I'm old and it's late. But you people get my point. So many posters have commented that Johnson, if he had any brains, could read this board and do 1,000% better than relying on his own stupidity and the handful of fools he has running this show.
