I'm going to try and be nice. I've posted sources. There is no additional $2m for being an all pro. There is only -$2m if he is not all pro. That -$2m would affect every year of his contract. If he is not all pro next year then his 2017 salary would be -$2m compared to the current projected 2017 salary and $4m less than his original 2017 expected salary (because he wasn't all pro last year).

Here is an article that references the fact the contract includes a bonus of $125,000 for every game that he's on the active roster and since he missed the final seven games, that mean's he'll miss out on $875,000.

I've tried typing extra slow and only used small words so I hope you're able to understand it all.

Same way he, or his agent, are announcing he wants now: via trade. Most (smart) players are trying to get a new gig after a good year.

Just cuz he wants a trade doesn't mean the 49ers will grant him one. Sure there are plenty of players that renegotiate their contract with a year left on their contract bhc hey if you don't give me an extension now I'm gone but name one player that has been able to renegotiate his contract in the first half after having a blockbuster year. My internet is broken bc Google said 0 results. Alex Mack has an opt out clause as does the entire NBA but just name a couple football players in the last 5 years so I can be enlightened. Players have breakout years all the time so it should be pretty easy.

So you're telling me you could not comprehend the link you yourself posted? The one where it lists his 2016 base salary as $13.9m, with a roster bonus of $2m and a workout bonus of $400K. I'll help you out, that's $16.3m. Now take off $2m for not being All Pro and you come up with, ta-da, $14.3m, which just happens to be the original figure I posted. There is no way he only comes in at $11.5m next year which was something you first claimed, then said you never claimed.

I'm sorry that you can not both add, which was what I did one time by counting the $2m as an escalator if he was All Pro, and subtract which is what I did when I counted it as a de-escalator if he was not an All Pro. All you need to know is what numbers you are starting with, which I thought would be easy enough for even the most dimwitted to figure out, you have proven me wrong in that regard though. Hint: Spotrac shows his base without the $2m for being All Pro and your Ninernation link shows his base with the $2m for being All Pro, so yes as you stated earlier you did post sources.

Unfortunately you were unable to deduce that your sources figured his base salary different ways, same as I did.

I'll admit only that I did not realize he went on IR last year so that would account for an $875K difference but the only way you get down to your claim of, "if he doesn't play like an all pro or Super Bowl he only makes 11.5 next year and 14.9 the next", is if he is also not on the active roster for any game in the entire season. Sure lets trade for him and keep him off the active roster so we only have to pay him $11.5M next season, makes sense.

Maybe you should read your own links a little slower next time, it may help you better comprehend them.

There is no escalator, just because you say so doesn't make it true.

Maybe if you took the time to read a little more closely you'd notice that the niner nation article is 2014 ie pre the de-escalator for his poor 2015 performance.

You went ahead and acknowledged you were wrong about the roster bonus and I applaud you for that. Now you can start posting some sources that mention an escalator or just admit that you were wrong about that too.

In good faith I will acknowledge that in my first post (but in no subsequent ones) I counted the de escalator twice for next year.

Re: Your tada moment, I'm reading based on sport trac that the money he's losing off his full roster bonus is coming off the 2016 bonus. Since I see no sources that say otherwise, I'm going to run with it.

Can you not figure out for yourself, whether you state he makes $10 plus another $2 if he is All Pro or he makes $12 minus $2 if he is not an All Pro, it is the same thing. There is nothing that would change the net amount earned either way. Escalator/Deescalator, it doesn't matter, the net is the same.
Since you can't seem to comprehend that simple fact you go on thinking what ever you like. I'm done.

So he wants trade when his team won't grant him one. He wants trade after 2 shitty years. And he doesn't want to wait for being closer to the end of his contract before talking trade....
You got all of this, but in your mind it doesn't spell "not very bright". Got ya!

There is a difference. The de-escalator affects the remainder of his contract. It not only goes down $2 mil next year but it also goes down $2 mil every additional year.
    Your way (simple numbers):
Year 1 10 mil (no escalator)
Year 2 10 mil (no escalator)
Year 3 10 mil (no escalator)

    The way it is:
    Year 1 12 mil -2 mil de-escalator = 10 mil (we're still the same year one)
    Year 2 10 mil -2 mil de-escalator = 8 mil
    Year 3 8 mil -2 mil de-escalator = 6 mil

Your way he made $30 million for 3 mediocre years.
The way it actually is he makes $24 million for 3 mediocre years.

I want to reiterate that these aren't the actual numbers in his contract. I'm just trying to show you the difference between your incorrect understanding and reality.

I have a newfound respect for special ed teachers... Actually all Florida teachers.

You are a special kind of dumb ass aren't you. His base is reduced $2m each year, period. No matter what words and numbers you put together in your post that isn't going to change. $2m off each years base salary or $2m added dependent on what you use as his base as I previously stated, it does not go down $2m, then $4m then $6m. It's $2M a year over 6 years of his contract for a total of $12, not $42m which if you add it up the way you are saying is what it works out to.

How the fuck can you even think that his base salary each year is going to be reduced further by what was taken off the year before? I wasn't going to bother with this any more but not it is getting kind of funny and I am interested how far you will continue the charade of acting like you can comprehend simple math.

If he makes $10m a year and loses $2m each year he doesn't make All Pro it is then $8m a year, simple math.
    $10m-$2m=$8m
    $10m-$2m=$8m
    $10m-$2m=$8m

If the $2m is compounded on to the next year, what you are saying would look something like this and is completely wrong.
    $10m-$2m=$8m
$10m-$4m($2m from the first year and $2m from this year)=$6m
$10m-$6m($2m from the first year, $2m from the second year and $2m from this year)=$4m
