If it comes from Custer it might be true. All things point to it. The bad press, the fans, etc. Woody definitely wants to disassociate himself from all of it. The Idzik presser and his 17 minute monologue probably was the final straw. It was embarrassing.

My sources have told me Woody plans on bringing in 17 more former GMs and executives before making the final decison,it was also said that he will seek advice from the guy who runs the "Mister Softee" ice cream truck in the stadium parking lot
Can you imagine if this guy gets a FOURTH coaching regime to work with?! Guy must have incriminating evidence against Woodrow at his disposal. And I predict he will be back because that'd be so Jets.
That is the key.... he has been here long enough. Time to go look someplace else for a guy who heads the scouting department. In all his time he's never found a QB that can get the job done. You'd think even by dumb luck he'd have found at least one guy that can play the position.
This would be bad news for the AFC East, who have been riding the gravy train with Idzik and Ryan at Jets.
Really? Neither Miami or Buffalo rode this gravy train to the playoffs when Rex was coach and BB earned all his rings prior to Rex's arrival.
Kind of disappointed they have to meet together. Rex should get the "look you've been great for our organization, but we just all know it's time for a new direction" farewell. Idzik should get a bus ticket home from Miami.
At this point I'm sure both have already been told that after Sunday its over Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Consistency has always been an issue with the Jets but we actually have been consistent in 2 areas; 1-Bradway heading up our scouting department 2- No franchise QB & mostly disappointing drafting during his regime Hmmm, time to make a change?
As for Qb excellence and blaming Idzik for not getting a franchise Qb in two years. He drafted Geno in round 2 and it was considered a good selection. The problem to me was starting Geno in year 1. Sanchez was on the roster and would probably have won the job in training camp if he hadn't been injured, we'll never know. There was no adequate backup after Geno was injured. Going with Geno in year 2: it wasn't a bad idea after he played well down the stretch in 2013. He improved and had about 16 starts under his belt. Still, Idzik signed Vick as a backup or to supposedly compete in training camp. He paid him good backup money at 4 mil. It was a good signing and he was probably the best available veteran Qb on the market last year. When you see the number of Qbs drafted high who are now no longer part of their drafting teams plans. You see it's not the exception to the rule that a new Qb doesn't make the grade. As for Casserly didn't he draft David Carr with the overall no. 1 .Not a great selection. A lot worse than drafting Geno.
people saying idzik should stay are only fixated on the draft, never mind he has failed in free agency (he should have brought in another receiver) failed to properly prepare this team with enough db's to plan for injury. His plan was a guy who played in 8 games out off 32 games? that is not a plan as much as a prayer. I am not saying break the bank but get some vets in here to help. When you couple everything together that is why idzik should be fired, along with rex and the scouts including bradway
The cornerback issue is to me a non-issue. You don't lose because of one player, one position. Every team has weaknesses and holes and most teams do not have elite cover corners. Patterson was a good signing and a fall back after they didn't sign DRC and the Indy guy. What about other free agent signings including Vick, Decker, Breno and Chris Johnson. Plus re-signing of Jets players like Pace. You can't just say nothing was done.
Yea we have given up 30 td drives if I'm not mistaken third worst in the league, but somehow we have the 6th ranked defense.Make no mistake if we had a diffrent coach with this secondary this defense would have been ranked 15-20th.Rex deserves a lot of credit for masking the flaws of the secondary at times
I don't think he masked the secondary problems. There were just too many guys open for long receptions on passing downs. The problem was as much the scheme as the talent. One thing in his favor though: when an offense can't move the ball and there are 3 and outs it puts extra pressure on the D. This has been the case not just this year but most years under Rex. In other words the D was actually better than their performance. In many cases the D held well in the first half but after almost no offensive production eventually gave up points.
