No. While we have a handful of free agents ... we are hardly a team that needs to win this year . NE "up and coming" ??? they are always a threat in the AFCE until BB and/or TB retire so having a bunch of draft picks is really nothing more from what they usually do..
Window in the nfl for success is so short. We had 1 or 2 injuries but maj of our core players stayed fit and healthy. We should have won this game and no amount of baby steps or next year is our year should mask this fact. Fucked off, tired and currently proud owner of 3 nights at the Courtyard Galleria in Dallas!
Not a darksider, but....Im 40 years old, and I have seen this team lose in just about every way possible now. Shula leaving the tarp off the field in the monsoon in '82 and the league allowing the game to still be played on that swamp, to Cleveland in '86 and the blown halftime lead in Denver. We cannot go on and on about how bright the future is, when we have no idea if we are even going to play next season. Depending on what the FO does, this team may be radically different with different chemistry next year. Sanchez could suffer any injury etc etc etc..This is what is so gutting about this loss, Championship teams win these games. I dont want to hear any more smack until we win something.
Detroit is just happy they won 4 games..as a Jet fan there is no way you can be happy with this season. Look beyond the record and you see a team with great potential, but potential in the NFL these days only last one or two years sometimes. The Jets made bold moves to take the next step and didn't get it down. The failed to lead the league in wins, failed to win the AFC East, failed to get a bye or home game in the playoffs, failed all season on ways to get their offense to wake up before the 2nd qtr, and in the biggest let down failed to show up and tackle for 3 minutes in Pittsburgh --- 11-5 is nice but I am sick of nice seasons ending before a Super Bowl.
I am not just glad we got here. I am hopeful for the future of this Jets team between Sanchez, Rex, Tanny and our returning free agents and players. But, 0-4 in the AFCCG since I've been a fan is absolutely crushing. I sometimes fantasize which way do I want to finally see the Jets win it all, as an underdog or a powerhouse. I am leaning more toward powerhouse, just crush everyone in our path, take care of business, paint the town green, then I will be glad.

100% agree...I am so sick of every playoff season ending with glad we got here, was a fun season, future looks promising, next year is our year. For once make this year the year and win the fucking thing!

Man some people on this post sound like Patriot fans. Is this season a failure? Well any one that doesn't end in a SB win is. Was this a great season? Absolutely. Its fine to be pissed we lost, I know I am. However if you think rationally it is easy to understand how this was a great season. Seriously, looking at the season as a whole and being pissed is like getting 5 numbers right but not the powerball in the lotto and being pissed you "only" won 250k. Bad game and a disappointing ending, but people gotta drop the self entitlement that a super bowl victory is ours, or you end up sounding like those whiny Pats fans that get pissed when Tommy-Boy "only" throws 2 tds in a game.

Now doing it on the road we did isn't and shouldn't be overlooked, but if this team was as consistent as the smack talk, we'd be the ones with tears of joy, and on our way to Dalass. But we're not. I pray to god we don't regress next year. I'd love to go to the AFCCG every year, but when can it finally be "our year?"
We have turned the corner. Unfortunately with that comes higher expectations. We are one of the top teams in the nfl now. It is no longer enough to just hang in there and try to win a wildcard with 9 or 10 wins. The problem is our rivals are obnoxious PASTS fans and shite eating giants fans who have a quarterback with Down Syndrome. Any time we fall short of winning the Super Bowl they will talk trash. It comes with the territory though I guess, because they now see us as a threat rather than a tomato can.

" I've had more than my fair share of "Moral" victories... We were supposed to win yesterday and end a lot of peoples misery, and came out flat for the biggest game of their and our lifetimes - inexcusable!!!
