Goodbye Jolley. Don't let the door hit ya on the ass.

It's now time for Chris Baker. The Touchdown Maker.

Jolley is a good pass catching TE. When he was in Oakland, he caught everything. All of the sudden, he can't seem to get out of his own way here. He just wasn't good for this team or NY. The same can be said about McCareins, a good player who couldn't handle the NY lights. It just sucks that we paid so much in terms of money and draft picks for these players. If I see Bradway in the streets, I'm going to punch him in the face just for living.

Dreesen will not be a gonner, he will be in there on the blocking schemes.

  That's too funny. That name didn't suit Stephen Baker let alone Chirs.

Yes! We got a PICK for jolley! I would've taken a bag of doritos, but this is even better.

Then he WAS a good pass catching TE, b/c he sure didn't do a damn thing under that NY Heat, and thats all that matters to me. Maybe he'll return to form in tampa bay, but I'm glad we ended things while we could get something for him.

I never did like Jolley. He didn't fit from day one IMO.

Seems like an awful lot of wheel-spinning to me. And juggling positions in which there is no real apparent need for drastic change. TE's and WR's?
Mangini just yesterday praised Chris Baker, now we give up an undisclosed pick next year for another one?

But I suppose, if Jolley was in the doghouse (and I'm certain he was after allowing himself to get caught responding on the sidelines to that cheap shot last week... and even if the other guy started it first, you control yourself more than that and suck it up, thereby causing the other guy to get the flag and not you) and Mangini obviously wanted him gone, we needed another TE for depth. I certainly don't think this means Dreessen gets cut.

What I don't get is, I know we have some money in the kitty for Salary Cap, so why aren't we looking at perhaps another nose tackle or RB? Maybe we are and we're just not done shopping yet. All this leaves me really wondering about the Barlow trade, big time.

you know why Jolley couldn't catch right?

he was a TE wearing the #88
    Kyle Brady
    Anthony Becht
    Doug Jolley

please do not give the #88 to another TE

    Thank You

don't get these moves. Jolley was a dumbass, but at least he can catch. he had some good years with the Raiders. unless mangini knows something nobody else does, the TE from dallas and WR are worthless...

As far as the WR goes, maybe Tim Dwight is a little more injured than we've been led to believe.

I read on the Cowboy's site that Ryan was on the top blocking tight ends when he was drafted...to bad no one has ever heard of him.

    Fullback/H-back?

As for the TE we traded for...6'5'', 265lbs. Wow, now that's a guy with the size to be a huge help in keeping our QB from getting killed. I'll worry about his hands later; for now, I like the size as an extra o-lineman.

Good point and I thought the same thing. Bigger is better for run-blocking. Anybody know enough about this guy to comment on his blocking abilities?

Jolley was going to be cut anyway, getting a draft pick from his old boss is a plus....

    Acquired WR Sloan Thomas:

"Thomas, 6-1, 203, was waived by the Titans on August 29, 2006, after playing in one game in 2005 for Tennessee, recording two special teams tackles. The University of Texas product was originally drafted by the Houston Texans in the seventh-round of the 2004 NFL Draft. He finished his college career with 88 receptions for 1,362 yards (15.5 avg.) and 12 touchdowns. His 88 catches rank 10th on the school's career-record list and his 12 scoring grabs are tied for seventh."

Are we getting ready to trade McCareins now, finally?
