It's too early to judge either of his draft classes. Most of his free agent acquisitions were cheap stop gap guys except Decker. You have a bunch of young/unproven players getting reps at important positions. He has the cap flexibility to make the necessary moves. Things look bad but at least they have a plan and they have a semblance of an identity.
I wanted to build through the draft and develop young players while maintaining cap flexibility. We have a decent core of players for the future in Decker, Kerley, Harvin, Ivory, Powell, Anaro. Idzik has stockpiled the team with developmental Oline players and we potentially could have a hit with Aboushi. We have a good/solid front 7. The secondary and the QB position are the biggest glaring needs. He tried to go with developmental players at those spots and it didn't work. Plus we've had unfortunate injuries.
The one (and only) smart thing I heard in this presser from Idzik was when he said the good teams aren't the ones who spend money but the teams who spend money smartly. And I believe that's what he's trying to do. Other than that he acted like a "fucktard."

I think I just figured out the conspiracy plan since the whole 'Idzik planned to suck to get rid of Rex' seems to have gone by the wayside. Idzik is planning on letting the other AFC East teams run up their stats against the Jets so much that those teams have to overpay or lose players. The press mad?? I think the fans are about to turn on the whole organization. Many of us were hoping he would say outright that he fu#ked up and would right the ship. But nothing but glibberish came out. Even a pro Jet sports caster was flabbergasted by this team.
Is any team's fanbase, let alone one in NYC, going to take it easy on a GM with 20 draft picks over 2 years and a 1-7 record AND going into a season with 20M plus in cap space and glaring holes in the roster?
