This just makes too much sense. Why look at it this way when you can just sit there on your soapbox and call for the coach and GM's head before you even see how it pans out?

I feel bad for Crabtree this weekend. He's going to be stuck out on McKnight Island.

err we just signed Grimes to provided depth at RB.

Revis cannot replaced and there is no-one good available at CB at this stage of the season (the Pats already looked at Carr and said no and that is with their mediocre DBs). With all the cost we have invested at CB postion it would have been ridiculous for the Jets to have invested even more at the start of the season

Yes it clearly sucks that we lost our best player but that's hardly anyone's fault - this is like saying if Brady went down then the pats would suck for not having another pro bowl calibre #2 QB ready to go.

Might as well make Tebow a LB'er as well.

If this and the Grimes move pan out, it will make Rex and Tanny look like geniuses.

well he played CB in High school or college so atleast he is familar with this position, this game against SF reminds me of the Steelers game in week 2, We are facing tough a team coming off a loss and we are gonna be without Revis. I wish i could say we were gonna win this game, I don't see it happening ,anymore, whos gonna cover Randy Moss???and then you have Manningham on the other side for Wilson do deal with, Without Revis the 49ers have to many weapons on offense for us to win this game , I dont care what the Vikings did , The Vikings are pretty damn good and have a running game and jared Allen we ave none of those things

Well he was rated the #1 player coming out of high school as a cornerback, no? Maybe it can work.

He sucked as a RB and he will suck even more as a CB...this is a disaster.

Why is it a disaster if he goes from sucking at one position to another. If thats true than it doesn't really change anything.

Well, it doesn't matter if he doesn't play like when he was a RB..my fear is that he will.

Actually, I would think that Cromartie has just the right skill set to cover Moss. Cromartie is relatively tall and fast (long strider) like Moss. I am more worried about the Niners running game and Vernon Davis than I am of long bombs to Moss.

Moving him doesn't mean we stop looking for someone better, but we have a game in 4 days, we have to play someone at cb.

What comes to mind is that the Jets can't even afford an old washed up CB with the cap hell they have created for themselves next year..it's desperation to think you can make a NFL quality corner out of a RB who last played the position in HS..I don't care how little he plays he will be targeted every time he is on the field and why wouldn't he be?

I'm fine with this. Belicheck did the same thing with Edelman. We should still look at signing someone now not the time to be cheap
