What? They gave him the contract because he is a cheap replacement for an aging Kevin Faulk. He is perfect for that role and he will play it for another couple of years before he gets the Deion Branch treatment from some dumb team and becomes irrelevant. For me the situation is unfortunate because of the timing of it all leading to him being the third down back of the Pats. If he had gone to any other team this would be a total non issue. He is on the Pats so Jets fans are going to whine about it forever. I'm not.
For me it is pretty clear that he is at least somewhat talented. Is LT or McKnight better than Woodhead at what he does? I'm sure you could argue that LT is all day. But right now...where is it? Seems like people are attributing the lack off Woodhead's success in NY to Woodhead when clearly it was the inability to get him involved.
To me, it seems that everyone is attributing his success in NE to Woodhead when clearly it is the ability of Tom Brady. The truth lies somewhere in the middle of your statement and my statement. Woodhead is a nice player but he isn't doing shit without that HOF'er playing with him.
I can agree with that. Just pointing out that out of the RBs on their roster and all the free agents, they picked Woodhead for a reason
The Jets had molded him into the perfect fit for the Kevin Faulk role. Unfortunately we haven't had the type of QB play that makes the Kevin Faulk's and Danny Woodheads of the world dangerous.
We don't need to somehow turn this into a Schotty thread but I find it hard to define exactly what the Jets Scheme is when you have a QB that isn't anywhere near fully developed yet. Even if the Jets used the same exact playbook as the Pats it wouldn't look anything like the Tom Brady version does on the field.
lol. This "scheme" thing is so elusive If only every team had the right "scheme" every team would be perfect
Oh I know, but this offense just doesn't run those types of plays, Schotty or no Schotty. Brady can make me look good. I'm a nice red zone threat with my height and reach. Like I said in the shitty sugarcoating thread, if we wanna bash Schotty more, we have the proper thread.
Seriously... Good players can win with any scheme because they will execute it right. I could become the Pats OC tomorrow and look like a freaking genius with Brady making all my calls work perfectly.
You know what I'm saying. If the Jets ran a similar scheme as the Pats Woodhead would have found a role. We don't utilize RBs the same way. So the scheme doesn't call for his skillset. Scheme's matter for role players. If Woodhead was a star it wouldn't matter what scheme he was in, like Tom Brady. The Fin troll doesn't know football, so his asinine posts don't matter.
It is easy to hide behind that empty quote every time you need to reassure yourself that you are smart. But go run off. Thats what you usually do if anybody ever has a point you can't refute
I'm just scared you're gunna PM me asking for personal information, because you're obsessed with me. Its pretty transparent. I'm gunna go run off now.
Oh my bad. I wasn't trying to be sarcastic about what you were saying. I actually agree with what you were saying that's why I moved on. I was getting the part of the fanbase that gets all bent out of shape because the Jets aren't running whatever scheme they happen to think is perfect that week.
oh ok  Bad losses make it difficult to differentiate, but I should give you the obvious benefit of the doubt considering you're one of the good posters on here.
This week has definitely been rough on everyone. I pretty much assume I am on the same page as you with most things because I generally agree with all of your posts.
Well as long as McKnight is ready to contribute, he is an ace in the hole. I'm glad he's ready. I'm ready. We're all ready.
Ha! Paranoid much? Sorry if my posting triggers a twisted fantasy you've got going on involving me PM'ing you asking for info
