It's a running back's job to run through a hole. ...but sometimes those holes aren't there and we saw Joe McKnight pull off some crazy shit on that 18 yard run. There's not a position in this league that relies solely on individual effort.
well give it a little time and you'll be touting mcknight as elite also. after your evaluation of sanchez what do you expect, homer?
Only if you promise to use it on the poster above your post. Edit: I mean use the ax, not the 1/2 table....lol
What is the point of posting about Mark Sanchez in a thread about running backs? There isn't one. You're a waste. Move along. If you like Josh Freeman so much, become a Buccaneers' fan. I'll stick to rooting for #6. At the moment, that's who it's reserved for.
McKnight hasn't proven nearly enough to be a great value pick. He helped us win a meaningless game, sure, but that's not enough to be a great value pick. If he doesn't contribute the next two seasons and then we cut him, we'll think of him as a bust, not a great value pick. Just because he's better than a bunch of other guys who didn't do anything doesn't make him a great value pick. I've been a McKnight defender. You can't teach his speed, agility, pass catching ability, and size. He could be a 6'2" Woodhead. That's why we kept him over Woodhead. You can't cut a guy off of one training camp where he showed up a little out of shape. He's apparently busted his ass since then, and if he keeps working hard, he has a chance to be a very good player for us. You had to like what you see against Buffalo.
lol, an internet tough guy, i'm shocked. if we ever met in person, i'd bet the ranch you wouldn't have the balls. tough talk is what i would expect from the likes of guys like you. i'm shocked (not) the other poster wants you to do his dirty work for him!
Cant seem to find video of that 18 yard run from McKnight anywhere. Truthfully the play that I found most impressive by him was that 6 yard gain he had where he pretty much got slammed by 4 guys after a real short gain and ended up getting 6 yards after 6 guys brought him and I think Turner down. McKnight physically just never looked like he had that kind of power
You can't say he's only helped out in one game and that he's not contributing to this team. He's been a big contributor on specials this year. That was just to show everyone that the majority of the running backs drafted this year didn't do much either. 6'2? He's 5'11.
A real life tough guy. I'm not shocked. As soon as I saw your username, I automatically assumed you were the ultimate badass. I told myself: "I don't EVER want to fuck with that guy. He'll more than likely bet his ranch on my balls." If you're not going to bring anything to this board, jump into a bonfire.
You if McKnight was white, and he came into camp out of shape, people would say "give him time" and then he makes it to special teams, and people would say "see? he's trying hard" and then he has a big day against buffalo, and then people wouldn't want LT to return next year because Greene and McKnight would be all the Jets need. so why can't Joe get the same treatment?
I don't know why I always thought McKnight was 6'2". I feel pretty dumb now. He didn't look that tall in person, I just thought I remembered reading he was that tall. Regardless, the only reason he helped this season was because the team wanted to give both of the top two RBs a break. Before then, he could barely break the lineup. Granted, that's more of a lack of opportunity than anything else. Same with pretty much every other back on the list drafted in the late rounds. Most didn't get a chance to play. Neither did McKnight. If Leon didn't get hurt last year, Greene barely cracks the lineup. He had 7 carries in the first 6 games and was non-existent on passing downs. If Leon was healthy, he probably wasn't going to play a whole lot. I supported dealing Leon for McKnight and cutting Woodhead to keep McKnight. I'm glad he finally got an opportunity and did something with it. I just don't want to over-praise the pick for one meaningless game against a team that clearly packed it in with an awful QB.
one of the quickest cuts ive seen all year ... http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-fantasy/09000d5d81d6270e/RB-McKnight-18-yd-run i want him running option routes out of the slot asap
In a game against an awful team in a glorified exhibition. Our bruising FB averaged 5.5 YPC. He looked good, he finally showed us something but to crow about him b/c in a completely meaningless game he had a good game is downright silly. Let's hope this is a sign of things to come but he has alot to prove and he better show up in shape and ready to go next year. He didn't learn from throwing up but it appears he learned from his awful training camp and has made slow but steady progress throughout the year. Let's see him work harder than he ever has this offseason and come in ready to contribute. There's no excuse in year 2 w/ his talent not to be a contributor on offense.
LOL.... where do you come up with this stuff? It's all about race? Are you shittin me? C'mon man, you are better than this. What an utterly dopey thing to say.
