I appreciate your opinion but that's a fact/impossible. Contract too big, arm too bad, possible financial complications that would penalize the Jets, and his 2014 7th Round Pick value would make him the ultimate sell-low. Trading Sanchez shouldn't be discussed, just like trading Revis today, it would make zero sense for the Jets (and that's assuming somebody would even want Sanchez...).
Ok I am sold, I heard the interview and something really is going on. He specifically said (about O'Connell) "you have to be prepared looking ahead" ok... fairly cryptic but it definitely involves the QB position. In probability from most to least 1. Mcelroy cut (he is Mr. Inactive) 2. Tebow trade (not sure with who at all, Smith hates him Jacksonville) 3. Sanchez not starting (offense possibly changing and O'Connell better suited to back Tebow up in new "run and pray" offense)
Sanchez won't be traded, use your brain. As for Sanchez not starting, it would make less sense to bring in a QB then because it would mean we have a wasted roster spot on a sitting Sanchez in addition to 3 other QBs.... Scratch that off the list.
I don't get the logic of cutting McElroy for a guy that basically got punked by Tanny on Hard Knocks a while back.
That's possible but it would have to include #1. But why would we work a two-QB system if Tebow's starting? The entire reason for a two-QB system, despite all of its pitfalls, is to allow Tebow an opportunity to get some PT. I don't see the Jets sticking with the two-QB system if they don't stick with Sanchez.
or maybe, just maybe, Rex was prepared for the question at the presser. Went in to his prepared, rehearsed 'act'. All a NY JETS PR Department 'Media' type rouse, for 'Press', before the "BIG game, this Sunday 4 pm EST in bean town :breakdance: Doesn't appear all the usual sports news suspects, including TMZ, is biting on it, yet. Interesting, very interesting...
no. He has played for the Pats and under a McDaniel's system and has a relationship w the Jets. It's a simple info dig nothing more nothing less.
I think if tebow starts (and its a huge if, i get it and understand it, its my third scenario after all) the jets could be moving to a ground and pound (or I coined the "run and pray" offense) and if that is the case, O'connell backs up Tebow a lot better. In that scenario i do not see Sanchez staying with team. Maybe someone is willing to take over his contract 100%. That is a likely scenario (discussed in tebowmania earlier today)
Just to add to the speculation. If the Jets were to trade a QB, Arizona would appear to be a likely trade partner. FWIW, if Sanchez were a Cardinal I think he would have a tremendous career there.
You're hearing it because you want to. I just listened to the same PC and he just wasn't tipping his hand... Nothing to see here at all.
Revis help us if we trade Sanchez, at least he's an NFL QB (albeit an average one). Tebow, O'Connell, MCelroy...yikes.
