Heard about it on boomer and carton this morning. Apparently the Jets accepted the money and also made a donation of a million dollars.

Half of them would rob jewelery from their mom's casket if they could get away with it.

“Jeff Flake Travels the World at Taxpayers’ Expense” Fact Check
Recently, you may have seen Congressman Flake’s attempt to call Wil Cardon’s latest TV ad inaccurate. This is yet another effort by Flake to hide behind baseless accusations – exactly what you would expect from a career politician. Below is the exact script of Cardon’s “Jeff Flake Travels the World at Taxpayers’ Expense” ad and the attribution for each claim. Please read it and click on the links to the sources. You’ll find that this is ad is nothing short of 100 percent accurate. While Flake clearly hates the truth, it’s abundantly clear that his tens of thousands of miles of travel have involved spending taxpayer dollars and taking special interest money.

I don't know. It seems that there should be more to the story. Like, for example, given the relatively small numbers involved, could it be that it actually represents a reimbursement of the cost involved in bringing each vet and their families to the games?

Hey Gunther, what offense did you commit to get incarcerated? Because it's obvious you did get incarcerated and then got submitted to unmanly acts of sexual perversion

the nj national guard is a corporate sponsor.thats where the moey came from. if we are going to be outraged by this we should be also be angry with the tv networks who are taking money to air the armed forces branch commercials, or the production companies that took the money to produce those commercials. the military has and advertisement budget and they are going to spend it somewhere.

I see you are a wishful thinker. Maybe if more of you would think now, you won't have to look foolish later. Stop being a follower of others thoughts and agendas.

Pretty big non-issue. I don't get what the fuss is about. You have to pay for advertising and that's exactly what the Army does with this.

Ummm...You may be a little late to this game...

    But....

Here's a clue...(First one is always on the house)

Football...and...FWIW ALL Major league sports are ENTERTAINMENT.

Hence, a large swath of their revenue comes from......(drum roll please...) ADVERTISING.

That's what the National Guard is paying for. Getting their message in front of several million viewers, a large portion of which happen to be of enlistment eligible age.

Or maybe you thought Budweiser and Geico were just there for jollies too...

Here's a clue for people of limited intellect - political and religious messages are different then commercial messages. If someone wanted to pay the Jets to fly a Nazi flag they would say no, for good reason. Its the same reason they should say no to other political and religious messages.

Allowing The Armed Services to advertise to a mass audience, (On the cheap no less) is almost a public service.

Ad time costs way more than that, and several of the teams mentioned got thrice what the NYJ got.

But at the day, It's Advertising.

    alcohol, politics, or the Services...

I guess the General was also of limited intellect.

Advertising the ANG, is NOT a political message. It is a commercial message.... "Hey, join us in a job you can be proud of, two weeks a year, one weekend a month" The only reason one could find that particular group buying ad time troubling would be if one was some type of commie pinko slob (slav?)....just sayin.

    44 mil, to 2...yep, 2 Nascar teams.

Talk about a tempest in a teapot.
