Jets waive Coples

This is the bit I don't understand in this. Coples is surely better on the line than Bowen? He has always looked decent enough when used there as far as I was concerned. He's never likely to develop into a top tier guy or be as good as our starters, I get that, but he's better than Bowen and might be an adequate starter somewhere. Surely the move was to waive Bowen (practice squad), and stick Coples back as DL depth. Get him some reps as a backup and maybe more if the season crashes and then there is some trade bait for the end of the season or we can still waive him then if we want.

 

Maybe they needed to remove a splinter from his ass , those benches can be very unforgiving ?

 

or maybe his name was Rashonda and just made everyone uncomfortable..

How do you play somebody like Bowen over a guy like that? How does a guy like that get waived? Mind boggling.

I wouldn't be surprised if he went somewhere else and played well. Maybe he wasn't worth being a first rounder, but he played well overall as Jet. Maybe in another system he can be a more consistent playmaker

 

I have to believe he'll start on another defensive line. This team is stacked in that department and truth be told, I don't know how anyone here can say he sucks. Ded he sucks at OLB?..sure but he was a decent lineman.

lol quittin' coples, the bright football mind that he is, is going to teach Miami all about Bowles' defense that he couldn't even learn enough to stay on the field here.
