The worst thing about the 2 losses in 81 was that it completely neutralized the effect of the Todd to Barkum game...Seattle, more than any other team, knocked us out of first place. I went to the 1991 game...had a great weekend in Seattle, ate some great barbecue at the Pullyaup State Fair...only thing that ruined it was the weak performance in the game. I hated this team for a long time. Actually, Seattle is kind of an anomoly for the Jets. With most of the teams beyond the AFC East, the Jets either win all the time or lose all the time. Seattle is one of the few teams were we've had a run of both. Teams we have owned (for the most part) Arizona Kansas City San Diego Cincinnati Tampa Bay Carolina Teams that have our number Philadelphia Washington Pittsburgh Cleveland Chicago San Francisco
Remember Don Boyd Odegard? Didn't he have a big fumble in that game? I was in Oklahoma and saw that highlight, it was all I saw of that game.
I do remember Don Boyd, that particular game is such a blur to me. I remember losing by a TD but the game wasn't as close as the score, I remember Troy Taylor coming in the game late but I don't vividly remember the Odegard fumble though thinking about it my memory is being jogged a bit. I think Seattle blew open the game in the 2nd half and the Odegard fumble basically sealed our fate.
Sure I think the 1st 6 or 7 times we played them we lost. Once twice in one season & once to a backup QB.

The backup QB was Dave Krieg making his first career start in that game against the Jets. Jim Zorn was injured. The papers led with a "Blitz Krieg" headline. The Sack Exchange came up empty and the Jets lost. The 1985 game was one that started to turn things around. That game featured the incredibly acrobatic touchdown catch by Al Toon.
That acrobatic TD by Toon was in 1986 at Seattle. We actually trailed Seattle 14-0 at the half in '85 and everybody thought "here we go again" but we came back w/ 17 int he 2nd to finally beat them.
Wow 4 out of 32 wonderful average huh? Also 3 are out of conference teams & 1 is out of our division. I would say that is nowhere as dominating as you make it appears in ur post. I think a much better barometer of our overall performance is our overall record which is as I posted all time is under 500 including the years as the NYTs
soo uh we're 7-1 against the vikings! and winning records against Pats and Phins, but thos pats are catching up big time, we need to beat them more often
Often, when our pass defense gives up a play, I sarcastically say "where the hell is Don Boyd Odegard when you need him? Good old # 21!
We had a big lead against NE until they started dominating us in 2003. Don Bod Odegard is one of those names no Jet fan will forget if they were following the Jets during that era, it's like a Nuu Faaola or a Lonnie Palailai
