I apologize it was 3.6 YPC which isn't exactly a brick wall. Also there were a few runs that were so close to breaking the big one and we just gave up on. Like 3rd and 4 on the last possession when you know its 4 down territory... We pass and get sacked....... RUN THE BALL. Sanchez is still a 2nd year qb the offense shouldn't rest on his shoulders just yet. Hes still not seeing wide open receivers and hes still inconsistent with his accuracy. We were averaging what 25 ppg until the Vikings game.. Teams were stacking the box then and will continue to all year.
Well when we added Braylon last year that stopped instantly. So once Sanchez gets back to his 100+ passer rating form they won't be stacking the box. After the past 2 games I'm sure that'll be a focus in game preparation and I hope they hit some quick slants and utilize Keller all day.
He's probably already in the top 5, although I have only seen highlights. But, the guy is playing like a beast. He's a shoo-in for DROY if he keeps it up.
Obviously in that specific situation a run was more desirable, but generally speaking we need to have confidence that our QB can take advantage of the defense giving us the pass. Sanchez can do it and will do it.
Maybe the best young DT in the league, but he's not the best. Not when there are guys like Vince Wilfork, Kevin Williams and Casey Hampton in the league.
Suh has been amazing, but he's not the best DT in the NFL. Yet. He is still learning to play in Schwartz's scheme and how to handle being held on almost every play. It isn't just Suh. Corey Williams has played just as well, if not better, than Suh and Sammie Lee Hill is also making plays.
Call me crazy, but I would take Suh over any of them right now. This monster has 6.5 sacks already! Do you know how insane that is? He's got more sacks than Julius Peppers and Jared Allen combined. And he's a force against the run. What more could you want? Throw out the "rookie" tag, that's the only thing holding him back from being considered the best. He's a Lawrence Taylor type force on the defensive side of the ball. The only person I'd consider along with Suh right now is Ngata.
half the guys he threw out there are 3-4 NT's and your basis for that is sack numbers? that's brilliant
According to the Lions fan he may not even be the best DT on his own team, but he's a "Lawrence Taylor type force"? Did you see LT play?? I haven't seen him so I can't disagree with you, only question, but I will be paying close attention Sunday.
Peter King wrote last week that not only is Ndamukong Suh a lock for rookie of the year but could win defensive player of the year too. The guy is a beast, but our line can handle him so not worried.
You missed the point I was trying to make. He is a dominant force as a pass rusher and as a run stuffer. The other NT's don't affect the passing game like he does.
Suh is ridiculous, I wouldn't call him the best DT in the league but he's a freak. He's a huge guy with very good athleticism.
When Detroit finally gets some competent cornerbacks in their secondary...their defense will be a force.
they have 1 CB. it's their linebackers that suck worse than their secondary. definitely at the bottom of the league as far as linebacker core
