Ryan Leaf looked like a HOF QB during his highlights, too. What Ryan Leaf's highlights don't show the naked eye is how throughout his career he had a career losing record of 4-17 (.200%) 317/655 (48.4%), 3,666 passing yards (146 passing yards per game) 14 TDs/36 INTs and a bust QB Rating of 50.0 throughout his 3 year career. Sam Darnold here in 2020 is trending downwards and looking like one of the biggest USC Bust QBs of all time this year while going 0-6 (.000%), 112/191 (58.6%), 1,045 passing yards (174 passing yards per game), 3 TDs/6 INTs) and a bust QB Rating of 65.9 (dead last, 32nd amongst all NFL starting QBs). He stinks!!!
he makes plays bad Qbs just can't make. he's just inconsistent and surrounded by trash and beat to all hell. I'm 95% sure he'll go onto somewhere else and have a solid career.
how can you compare those 2 videos. it's nothign even remotely close. leafs highlights are routine plays while he's surrounded by good talent. even shancez has a better highlight reel then leaf. The point of the video though was to compare sam last year to this year to show the regreessing
If you don't believe that, then JD should be fired for incompetence. They had cap space. Why didnt they get Diggs? Or resign Robbie? Or both? It was the year to decide on Sam,he basically gave him no chance. He would look like a fool to give Sam money now. I believe it's clear he wanted to draft his own QB
Because I know the truth about Sam Darnold and I know that he's an absolute turnover machine and another big time USC NFL bust and rated as the NFL's 32nd dead last and worst NFL QB. Sam been an overhyped turnover machine dating back to USC and on an NFL level, nothing has changed; he's still a turnover machine... He stinks!
What, he doesn't have an ability to make his players around him better without running to a different team? He couldn't make Robby Anderson better, he needed Teddy to do that for him? He can't make his O Lineman better? That's funny because there are now multiple former Sam O-Lineman who are starting for opposing teams right now (once escaping, Sam). Great QBs make everyone around them look better. Brady made his HC Bill look like the greatest thing ever lol he made a bunch of little white WRs look like superstars, he made two TEs in Gronk and Hernandez look awesome and Brady also made his O-Lineman look amazing due to understanding protection and knowing how to read defenses just ask Belly who's 2-5 without him. Ask NEs WRs who are absolutely trash without him and ask Joe Thuney who's fallen off a CLIFF without him. You can put Sam on KC and it wouldn't matter. It wouldn't make a difference. Because he'd A.) Still be the same exact turnover machine he was while @ USC/NYJ. 2.) He still wouldn't know how read defenses and 3.) He'd still become nothing more than an NFL USC BUST. You see. Sam Darnold doesn't even have the arm strength to utilize Robby Anderson as Mahomes features Hill. Sam Darnold is worse than Geno Smith when it comes to Reading defenses and understanding protection. Sam Darnold is worse than Sanchez @ decision making after the snap and Sam Darnold leaving for another team would still be... Sam Darnold at the end of the day. Overhyped USC bust is all he'll ever become regardless of how many different NFL teams give him a chance before spitting him out (just like Mark Sanchez). Rex Ryan was right. Daniel Jones is better than Sam Darnold (talent wise).
lol you blame darnold for o-lineman not playing well. come on man. that's a joke you can't be that crazy
Well when you're a QB who A.) Doesn't understand protection because B.) You don't know how to read NFL defenses (whatsoever) in essence C.) You make everyone around you look bad, even your O-Lineman due to being D.) Completely lost out there. Yes. Outside of Becton a franchise LT it's more than obvious we have a bottom feeder O-Line but there are now 3 or 4 former O-Lineman of Darnold's who are now starting for winning football teams so it makes me less confident in Sam as a whole. Beachum is starting @ LT for a 5-2 Arizona team with a young Murray. Winters is starting at Guard for a 6-2 Bills team with a young Allen. And Shell is now starting for a 1 loss Seattle team 6-1 for Wilson @ RT!!! (which goes to show me that it was never our "O-Lineman" and has always been Sam Darnold who's single handedly held our entire offense back). How many WRs, RBs and On-lineman are we going to have to go through before understanding Sam is the #1 problem? And if you don't understand that Brady made guys like Joe Thuney great due to understanding protection due to knowing how to read defenses well then I don't know what else to say because Thuney has fallen off a cliff once losing Brady as the director of his offense.... And please don't get me started on how Sam was the absolute worst QB option for an explosive Robby Anderson due to A.) Weaker arm strength. B.) Horrible deep ball accuracy and C.) Can't read a secondary disguise coverage to save his life.
You're the one who doesn't get it. Beachum, Winter's and Shell are now STARTING for 3 winning teams in Arizona, Buffalo and Seattle but yet Darnold looked like absolute trash behind them and still looks like trash behind a stone wall of a monster Franchise LT in Becton. Darnold is worse than Geno Smith at reading NFL defenses and doesn't understand protection well enough nor an ability to read NFL defenses pre snap well enough to even communicate with his offensive lineman and therefore makes them all look bad and post snap, forget about because he's completely lost once the ball is hiked. How many promising WRs such as Robby and absolute quality starting offensive lineman such as Beachum, Winters, Shell and now Becton are we going to have to go through before we stop making EXCUSED for Sam being the worst QB in the league and ranked dead last @ 32nd?!?!? Jesus Christ Trevor Lawrence can not get here soon enough because even on an NCAA level he communicates with his offensive lineman and reads defenses both pre and post snap better than Sam has regardless if @ USC or in the NFL. Sam was a converted LB in HS lol while Trevor's parents had him a professional QB trainer in MIDDLE SCHOOL and Trevor believe it or not was practicing with the varsity HS team and dominating them while still in middle school (while Sam was playing LINEBACKER @ THAT AGE!). Sam is not an NFL QB. It's that simple too. He doesn't know how to read defenses because he was too busy growing up as a kid trying to tackle on defense.
