I like this score, also the gameplan of LT on screens and the use of Keller, although he may have to stay in to chip block JPP frequently or Sanchez may die. In my pick 'em league I've only missed 2 JETS games this year (OAK, and the home game vs NE (still don't get that offensive performance, or lack of)... so hoping for no jinx. Happy Holidays! :jets:
someone has butt hurt..... 18-1 - giants made you cry 14-2 - jets made you cry.... you'll win 13 games this year then get shit on in the playoffs bc of your junior varsity defense we get it...its ok...embrace the pain cunt
Well i think its a terrible match up for the jets - as was the eagles in hindsight. the giants pass rush should be in full swing and thats gonna cause some major problems. the draws, traps, and screens SHOULD help alleviate the pressure but we just dont have the speed at RB and WR to make it go. i would be confident going up against the giants O but the giants go 4 pretty good receivers deep and there is gonna be a match up issue with someone.
Couldn't disagree with you more. I knew going in that the Eagles was a horrible match up for us but always thought the Giants match up is much better. Especially for our defense it will be much easier. Eagles were just too fast for us and used that speed to beat us to the outside everytime. Also Eagles TE is much faster than the giant load that is Ballard. Also the Giants are more run it up the gut and don't have that speedy back that gives us trouble. The Giants strength on O is our strength on D. Our corners should be able to handle the Giants wrs and if we can get any pressure on Eli than I can see him turning the ball over. Giants have a great pass rush but don't forget that they are the 28th ranked defense. They can be run on and if we get Greene going than their pass rush doesn't get the same opportunity as the Eagles did where we were forced to pass being down huge. Run the ball. Set up the play action and beat that weak secondary deep.
I'm actually more concerned about the Giants O vs. the Jets D, than I am about Jets O vs. Giants D. Yes they have a great front four pass rush but as long as we get Greene going and some screens and such I think we can do well. I am concerned about Eli and those WRs. We've got Revis and... ? Whoever Revis isn't covering can have a big day. I am getting the shakes thinking about the Giants O late fourth quarter driving to win the game.
Cromartie is more than capable in covering Cruz who is mainly a deep threat. Cromartie has played a lot better since the beginning of the season. We also have KW and Strickland who are more than capable of covering 3rd and 4th wrs. Our corners are the strength of our team and if I want an offense attacking any part of our D I want them attacking our corners. Our LBs and safeties should be able to keep Ballard from doing too much.
cant argue with these points - its all in the eye of the beholder. however - one question - do u really have confidence our O can go deep. unless they have been hiding it for 15 weeks its not gonna happen. though there is the element of surprise that the jets could use and wouldn't the giants be shocked if all of a sudden MS starts completing 20 yard outs - like eli routinely does. its all in the pass protection and i have serious doubts about it.
please. enough with the officials as an excuse. good team overcome bad calls. good teams win, period!
I had a dream the giants blew us out and I was pissed I didn't sell the tickets. Everyone was complaining and the Giant fans were being really arrogant. Basically what will happen if this scene plays out.
If the Jets can handle the pass rush and not turn it over, they should win. Which I am afraid may well mean they lose. Of course if the Giants turn it over, or can't stop Greene, they will lose. THis may turn out to be a game decided by who plays worse.
If the run game gets going I can see us not necessarily those 50 yard bombs even though we should try 1 or 2 but 20 yard routes to Keller with lots of yac. Giants struggle to cover TEs as well. We desperately need to run the ball well in this game it really is the key to our offense all the times but tomorrow especially. I hope Greene is feeling good.
Giants' pass rush is too much for the Jets suspect OL and it will be a long day for the O. I see the Jets losing and quite heavily: 24-10 to the Giants (having been losing only 10-7 at half time). I still believe we will beat the Phins the following week and by some fluke make the playoffs, we will beat the Texans then lose in the next round.
As much as I hope I am wrong, I see this being a very rough game for the Jets. I think the Jets match up very poorly with the Giants. The Giants are very weak in the secondary, and the Jets won't/cannot take advantage of that. Between the horrible offensive line, and the atrocious Schitty playcalling, this weakness will be negated. See Patriot games for proof! The Jets are very strong in the corner position, but have zero pass rush. Give Manning time, he has a ton of weapons, and they will hit big plays. Again, I hope I am wrong, but I don't even think this will be close. The Jets match up well with certain teams, but I think this is a terrible matchup problem for them. They have a ton of work to do this offseason.
Ballard is not playing this week. Hopefully our LBs can contain that huge threat in Travis Beckum. Like you said, if I want a team to attack any party of our defense, it is them going after the CBs. I'm expecting a big time play from Revis this week after he got chewed up the last 2 weeks (in terms of how good/shutdown we know he can be). If the Giants can run the ball on us, we will be in for a long game. Jets win 24 - 17 in a DOMINATING fashion as the Giants score a touchdown late.
Neither did I. You said their LBers and secondary are awful. We have made JAGs look good in the past was my point. It might not really matter how well our average defense matches up with them because we are more than incapable of protecting Sanchez sometimes, we are just inept.
