It is a weird scenario. If we win out and the Pats lose 1 non- divisonal game they win the tie break somehow. But if the pats lose vs Buffalo or Miami and we win out, the Jets win the division....
I think this is going to be a tough game. Miami isn't going to lay down here, they still have an outside chance at the playoffs. The Jets should be motivated for this game, but they should have been motivated for the monday night game too. Tough game. Could go either way. Not filled with alot of confidence in this team right now. Hope they change that, but it's gonna take more than just a win tommorrow. They damaged themselves pretty badly with that debacle on monday night. Guess we'll see.
They lost their 2nd best offensive lineman and their #2 receiver. And we have revis to shut down Marshall. Chad henne will be chad henne and not dan marino this time
And Marshall is either not playing or going to be sore from his Hamstring whilst he dissapears on Revis Island.
Henne has had success against the Jets. I don't care how many advantages people outline for this game, the Jets fill me with no confidence right now. Somehow they'll find a way to negate every advantage thrown their way. They better watch their ass tommorrow.
I would change things up a bit and put Revis on Bess. Use Cromartie on a dinged up Marshall and give help it necessary. If completely healthy I would use Revis on Marshall. I have to eat some crow on Bess, I didn't think he would become nearly the player he has.
The Dolphins want to bring us down in the shitter with them. We'll find out a lot about the Jets this week. Not just if they win the game, but how they win it. These mediocre 3 point wins against average teams aren't going to instill much confidence for the playoffs. The Jets are at a point where they need to prove they belong in the upper tier of teams. You can only go so far on talk alone. Of the 4 games we've played against premier teams in the league, we've lost 3. Very Tampa Bay-like (losing the tough games). Unless we beat the Steelers and the Bears, the Jets are going to go in the playoffs in a similar situation as last year. Underdog that needs to play over their head. The only difference is that barring a meltdown, the Jets shouldn't have to scratch and claw to get in the playoffs this year.
I am agreeing with you totally I really want to stand up and rally for this team sayin we will crush the Fins but they have never given me a reason to think they can do that this year.I think we can recognize our weekness's on Defense but not sure we have the personnel to make a difference rite now.
I'm just sick of this lazy mentality that the Jets always seem to play with. It'll almost be hard for me to watch the game tomorrow...
It comes down to strength of victory which is: A part of the NFL's tiebreaking proceedure, strength of victory is figured by calculating the combined winning percentage of the opponents a team has beaten. Assuming they lose to Chicago and win the rest and we win out. Teams they beat that we haven't: Ravens, Packers, Colts, Chargers (29 wins as of right now) Teams we beat that they didn't: Browns, Bears, Broncos, Texans (22 wins)
Yeah, I know this will come off as trolling... but whatever. 5.5 too good to pass up today. Actually, I thought Miami would win outright so I welcomed that crazy spread. I think NY's roster may have lost a good bit of respect for their coaching ranks last week, and I know that leads to individualistic play - which never works very well in the NFL. Last week could have been a turning point. We'll see. I'll come back and take my lumps if I'm wrong, but I doubt I am.
I wouldn't worry too much about those matchups. Rain and heavy wind's in the forecast. Besides, neither Henne or Sanchez are very good QB's anyway. Miami will outgain NY on the ground, substantially so.
