yes, maybe I worded it poorly, but I have to think 90% + of our FO's focus is on getting deals for Holmes and Edwards right now. When you consider the fact we have to renegotiate Mark and get Harris a real deal, and the other little things we have to do to fit under the cap, we have to have very few people working on bringing in UDFA's.... It doesnt mean we won't get some solid UDFA's, just that we arent/weren't going to sign a ton of them, especially most of the big names like a Herzlich, lefeged, mcdaniel and the like.
I remember my first google... Seriously, google him instead of asking a question like that...you're bound to get flamed here.
based on what you are seeing, why didnt he get drafted. I mean i realize thats a highlight tape so you are getting just the good, but he looked pretty good. Doesnt look like a kid who shouldnt have been drafted... like you said great measureables, looks to be a good blocker, certainly has production. Sure he did it against a lower level of competition but its not like he was playing D-3 here...
Level of competition maybe? I'm not sure. This is an off-the-radar player. I'd never heard of him until tonight. I also don't know if he's had injury trouble in the past either.
I suppose that could be. Our scouting department is incredibly in depth compared to most of the leagues. So if he was an off the radar guy, pretty obscure, he could slide. Injury history though is probably a good guess as to why.
Deunta it is then. Seriously is the only thing that is scaring teams away from this guy a broken leg which should be healed by now?
Zach Hurd is a perfect fit for Callahan's blocking scheme.Lacks footwork but gets by due to his long arms and height ( 6'7). When he gets good pad level he's strong enough to get the long arms extended and really pave some gaps. He can be a bit of a waist bender, due to the lack of feet...but if Callahan can get him to bend his knees and better utilize those long arms...He's a solid back-up guard with Right Tackle potential. Would love to see the Jets take a shot.
Cheers, and for not adding the words fire, die and faggot! and I`d never even heard of the Omaha Nighthawks before, thank you google. Would have loved him on the Jets, but will root for him all the same.
Daniels lacks ideal height 6'0, but is heavy enough 260 to play OLB in Ryan's scheme. He's got a non-stop motor...something you can't coach.
