So we had a 5th, 6th and 7th. We traded back and got a 6th and 7th. Then traded again and got another 6th but gave up the 7th. So now we have no 5th, 3 6ths and 1 7th? So we went from 3 picks to 4 picks? And gave up a fifth do accomplish that? Someone needs to lock Mac in a fucking room after the first round.
It had to be tied into the first deal “ if this guys gone” prolly Wyatt Teller who we wanted we do this second trade.
Well we do need talent all over the place and is there that much difference between 5 and 6 ? They chose a kicker with the 5th rounder btw is that a rarer occurrence or is the lad a good one ?
In all honesty, I'm not all that excited about the bottom of this draft. Getting Darnold makes the rest of the draft--for me--superflous. I'd love to get a player we can all gush over in the last 2 rounds but I kind of don't care at this point.
Everyone else is just picking players, Mac is just practicing how to fill out the draft paperwork? I don’t get any of this.
So we traded 157 for 167 and 225. Then we traded 167 and 225 for 180 and 204. So we gave up 157 for 180 and 204 essentially. By the traditional trade chart, that 157 was worth 28.2. The 180 is worth 19. The 204 is worth 9.4. FWIW. Mac gained .2 of value on that deal. He's a genius!
I've never been so confused in terms of draft trades, someone, for fuck sakes, make this make sense. Ha Where is our gain in this trade? We traded out of the 5th, so I would expect a coupes extra picks from that, no?
Not only does this team need an offensive minded HC they need someone in the front office that hates DL and loves OL. We know they are weaker than before at DL but there is borderline garbage at OL on the team now. Unless the master plan is let McCown, Teddy and anyone not named Darnold be sacrificial lambs this year then go full on for OL in next years FA period and draft to protect Darnold them I don’t get what they are doing.

I guess the plan will be as it has been for years that we hope and pray that someone worth while is cut loose from another team during trying camp but I would not hold my breath !
