This "when healthy" nonsense is maddening. Josh Gordon is a great WR when he isnt getting arrested for DWI's Greg Hardy is an awesome human being when he isnt pistol whipping women Martavis Bryant is a very good WR when he isnt suspended for a year because he has a 2 cent brain. Sheldon is really smart when he isnt driving 120MPH with a gun and weed in the car.
Not surprising that that's what you take out of my comment. Need me to list players that would've been better if not for injuries? Cause I can do that too.
If a Jets GM replaced Manning with Sanchez, most posters on this board would be calling said GM exactly that.
I bet the players u name miss time almsot every year because injuries. You makeit seem like we just got someone like arian foster who is constantly hurt every single season.
Why would you choose to use 4 guys who made bad life decisions as a way to support your theory of "A lot of players would have been great if they didn't get injured"?
Cant compare an LT to a RB. And I wouldn't have. I was thinking more along the lines of guys like Bob Sanders, Darren McFadden, Kris Jenkins, Pennington. And thats just off the top of my head.
No, Tanny filled key positions with vets so he could draft projects at other positions of need for the most part. He traded up routinely to grab a promising prospect at a position of need. Over the years the trade-ups depleted the Jets roster of depth and talent and turned the formula into a self-fulfilling cycle.
Sanders never played 16 games in a season, mcfadden only did twice those are bad examples considering clady has shown to be able to play 16 games 7 outa 9 seasons.
The statement that a lot of players would have been great if they didnt get injured is a theory? And its mine? I figured that was common sense but alright. And I used those players because if any of em were traded tomorrow they would be traded for way less value than they would've garnered had they not been idiots. The same way players that are either injury prone or coming off a major injury are traded for less than their value. We got Santonio Holmes for a 5th rounder because he had to serve a suspension and was on his 2nd strike. Does that happen if he didnt have that baggage? No. Negatives are negatives , whether they are injuries or personal problems is not the point..and Im sure you know that.
I'm not sure a QB in the first round is the right idea this year. I'd make sure I got the better of QB and LT on the 20, unless the BPA was clearly somebody else who was not a DL. If the BPA at 20 was a DL and none of the QB/LT's remaining were in his class I'd trade the pick down some and recover the pick the Jets gave up in the Fitzpatrick trade. A QB remains a possibility right into the first few picks of the 2nd round. After that I'd wait until the 6th to take a QB.
Nick Martin in the 2nd would be nice value.. might as well plan the future, and keep the tradition of good Center play alive.
Never said we are but you are comparing him to guys that could never stay healthy in almsot every season they played which is a shit comparison. Do in think it's a risk getting clady yes hopefully it works out
i like Clady as a rental, but OT still remains a critical position to invest a draft pick on. really hoping Conklin falls to 20, but it's unlikely. I also like Spriggs and Ifedi, but the value there appears to be 25-35. maybe we'll see some draft day moves..
I hope so too. I'm just not counting on it like a lot of people here seem to be. I think a good percentage of fans here now think our LT situation is as stable as it was prior to Bricks retirement. Far from that IMO
And has been discussed for 16+ pages haha. We shall see man, hope that's the case and we have ourselves another B. Marsh of 2015 on our hands.
