After reading that dog shit i will now place most of my blame on him if the Jets dont win a Super Bowl this year. All we really need is a pass rush.
I don't know I think it comes down to the Jets way of rushing the passer. They don't have the horses to loop their ends, so they don't bother doing that...they try to instead push the pocket onto the QB, forcing bad throws and it worked a ton last year, worked some this year. Gholston this year really spent NO time on the edge as a rusher at all...in fact, he's been inside using that strength he's been showing in those videos on page 2. He still has that strength. I guess what I'd like to see is move him to the outside, instead of the inside and see what happens. It seems he's actually become a solid run stopping DT...
i was talking from our point of view, not his. We save a lot under cap space when we eventually unload him. And as of now although we are not paying him much he is taking up a lot of cap space which can be used to re-sign one of our better players.

I guess the Jets needed to find a replacement mascot after releasing Woodhead. That's an expensive mascot. Just another guy.
I couldn't be more done with this guy, but what if he does get that sack? And maybe he really likes it? The burden would be gone and he could play loose. I know I am grasping here, but the guy is still an athletic freak of nature...
