I think he knew that he'd get a bigger offer from the Jets considering Dallas has close to no cap room. He probably wants to be a Cowboy but needs to see how much more he can get as a Jet.
Exactly. I don't think there was any way his agent was going to let him sign anywhere before talking to the Jets. Same with Pryor. Maybe one of them says yes by accident?
Across from Allen Robinson. That's not to say I don't wanna take a shot on him, because I do, but that 1,000 yard season is the outlier.
Still.. I think A Rob had a monster year that year too.. he’s a good WR2.. at least some competition at TC and who knows if Robbie gets suspended
In that monster season didn't he get more TDs than Robinson as well ? I Want to guess at 14 or something like that but on phone with sketchy internet.
I'd prefer Hurns over Pryor due to a little more youth but nonetheless I'd honestly love to sign both. Anderson. Kearse. Enunwa. Hurns. Pryor. (in no specific order) and/or able to rotate depending on matchup's and down and distance. None are "superstar" players although imo Robby Anderson has the potential to be one (on the field) but if we're to draft a rookie QB and/or start Bridgewater (with his accuracy); it'll be nice to have 5 established WR's who know how to not only play the game but also help their QB's succeed.
Potentially dumb question... but the Jets are working out Rosen today in Cali. Hurns is visiting in Jersey. How does this work?
I'd prefer Hurns over Pryor. Been a Wr his whole life can probably run more routes etc. But to add either I think it would be a good move to add another veteran to the young core and knowing Anderson won't be there for a game or two.
I don't know how they are all ranked, but you would assume Maccagnan has a staff that works under him. They take over why he is on the road and contact him via phone with contract negotiations. He could talk to players like Hurns via Skype or Face Time. That is my guess. Okay, so no on Dez. I just threw it out there.
Cowboys signed WR Deonte Thompson with basically their only remaining cap space. They can do some restructuring to get them space to sign more people, but I don't think they'd sign back to back WRs. Good news.
They are short staffed at the moment. They've contracted Terry Bradway to go to Cali and Rich Kotite to evaluate Hurns.
The timing definitely isn't optimal for Hurns visit with at least part of the CS/braintrust in CA. I have to assume that maybe Bates, a scout (or scouts), and Bowles are in CA and Mac and the WR Coach are back East to meet with Hurns. Mac has already seen Rosen at his Pro Day and the Combine. In addition, I'm pretty sure that the Jets will bring Rosen in for a visit here. If the Jets are interested in signing Hurns, Mac will be there. IMO it would be an insult to have Heimerdinger or Bowles to handle the visit. Mac needs to be there to talk turkey if they want to sign him.
