I don't want to hijack the thread,,,I think Denver is better than the Jets because they have more talent the Jets have SOOOO many holes.I will say it again lets see if Denver makes a move at qb because I think that would make a huge difference and make them a contender but the Jets in my humble opinion need so much more .You think the Giants are far away from contending again? They had a worse record than Denver or us but guess what they are a lot closer than the Jets but again I stray. I also think so many other teams are better top to bottom then these Jets,,,so I guess once the season starts we can come back and repost these and say I told you so. ps then we will see who is dreaming,,,maybe its me but not to stray but I did not say Lee played well last year .Back on topic I wish the Jets had more players with keeping sadly the don't .
Except there's a huge difference between losing because you don't have a QB and losing on purpose. And how has Luck changed the Colts into winners? They've been nothing all that special
One last time. Denver had the same 5 wind as the Jets. With an easier schedule. They're older. They have to she'd players to sign FAs. We have more draft picks. You're dreaming that they're in a better position than the Jets. Their team isn't what it was. Youre looking at the SB Broncos and think they're still around. You keep saying the same thing over and over again without a single reason why.
Name the ton of talent he's responsible for. Manning was a no brainer. And playing for a SB team is meaningless when it comes to building a team as a GM
Figured there wasnt a chance in hell you would give reasons other than you think they're a SB team. I've asked over and over, yes for examples of all the players he brought in. Crickets other than you think they're the better team. I get it.
Aside from Demarius Thomas all starters on offense during the SB were not with the Broncos before John Elway took over. Elway was a former QB but found five starters for his front seven in the 2012 draft alone. That was his first draft as a general manager, one for the ages. John Elway took over the Broncos in 2011 and they won the SB in Feb of 2016. These are the players he added that contributed to that victory: Starters Peyton "No Brainer" Manning QB - free agent - 2012 Ronnie Hillman RB - Round 3 - 2012 Emmanuel Sanders WR - free agent - 2014 Owen Daniels TE - free agent 2015 Ryan Harris LT - free agent 2015 Evan Mathis OG - free agent 2015 Matt Paradid OC - Round 6 - 2014 Louis Vasquez OG - free agent 2013 Michael Schofield OT - Round 3 - 2014 Malik Jackson DE - Round 5 - 2012 Derek Wolfe DE - Round 2 - 2012 Dylvester Williams NT - Round 1 - 2012 Branson Marshall LB - Round 5 - 2012 Danny Tervethan LB - Round 6 - 2012 DeMarcus Ware - free agent - 2014 - pro bowl Aquib Talib CB - free agent - 2014 - pro bowl TJ Ward SS - free agent - 2014 - pro bowl Darian Stewart FS - free agent - 2015 Elway also drafted the kicker on the SB team (the punter was already a Bronco when Elway got there). Between the 2012 draft class and the 2014 free agent class John Elway has an argument for hall of fame enshrinement for his work as a GM alone. While he did inherit three pro bowl players (Thomas, Von Miller, and Harris) he found all of the other starters on that SB team himself.
Thanks more players than I thought. He had a good base but added to it, I stand corrected on the number of players he brought in.
That 2012 draft led to six starters on a SB squad (RB, entire DL, and two LBs) . I wish we has someone in our FO half as good as John Elway.
I am aware of his claim, if true, even 10 weeks to recover from a concussion is still a major concern. As I said, I'd be completely on board with Norwell but I would be shocked if the Panthers let him walk. Their cap space is much better in 19 so a nice signing bonus with low first year would solve that issue. Sadly, given how Mac appears to value the O line, would he entertain paying that much money to him.
It's not even close in comparing Mahomes' arm and accuracy and winning mindset to Geno and Petty. If he stays healthy, he's going to be a SB-caliber QB.
I didn't call Smith very good in that post you clipped. I said Washington believes he's better than Cousins. Argue with them. Nor did I "ridicule" Cousins. You really get bitchy when somebody disagree with you. You do understand that forums like this are meant to debate DIFFERENT opinions, right?
And they totally kicked the crap out of the Jets when they played. That game showed that vast talent gap between the teams, as well as the lousy coaching of the Jets - if Vance Joseph can out-coach you, you suck.
Elway hit it out of the park in 2012 , especially in free agency. His draft was good but didn't yeild near what you stated. Wolfe is a good DT. Osweiler is a bust. Hillman another bust. Didn't start either super bowl. Omar Bolden another bust Phillip Blake bust Malik Jackson it turning out to be a very good player in Jax. Danny Trevathan another great player, and talk about value But like Jackson, due to all the FA spending he wasn't resigned. 3 players who started in a Super Bowl. Only 1 who lasted beyond his rookie deal.
So let me see if I have this correct you said in your post to me that "I've asked over and over, yes for examples of all the players he brought in. Crickets other than you think they're the better team. I get it." and in the next breath you post that YOU actually have zero clue as to who Elway actually did bring in but yet you still wanted to get in a pissing match with me ? Yes you do stand corrected ,Priceless.
Tony Hillman had a pretty good 2015 and I think he got hurt in 2014,,,,,is it that he was a bust or to me it seemed the Broncos had a few good running backs ?
I seem to remember him making headlines during the NY super bowl for late night partying and strippers. 2 super bowls , zero carries in the first, 5 carries for zero yards in the second vs Carolina. Since he couldn't make the rosters in Minnesota or San Diego. Let's say if he were Drafted by Mac, his selection would be reason to fire him around here.
