exactly fuck Coles as a #1, #2. hes going to be a #3. how many times will we see 3 WR's on the field? Hardly ever til Holmes is back. So let Coles get a 1reception a game. He can make a better impact than B.Smith/Clowney ever will.
He's having the same receiving problems that Leon had early in his rookie season. I'm not saying that it is a guarantee but his struggles the pass two days could mean that he may need a little more time. Or he may not. Whatever.
I was a big Coles supporter and still am but seeing him dring our playoff game go down and get checked out twice really wish he'd consider calling it. Funny though how no one mentioned it during the game but when it was Kurt Warner.....pffft
Anyone who thinks Clowney could not be an asset to the team obviously has never seen him play. Id rathe have Clowney on the field than Braylon(oops i dropped another one) edwards
Its not hard to never see clowney play. I agree that hes an asset, but youre absolutely nuts if you think hes better than Braylon.
edwards dropped 4 passes in the reg season, and 2 in the post season. he isnt as bad as you think. he dropped 2 easy passes, and everyone inflates.
exactly. clowney is a joke of a wr at the moment.(believe he was INACTIVE for the remaining 6 games we played) \ Lets compare Clowney to Edwards............... One player gets open and drops some balls. The other player is inactive for games, because he is horrible at the wr position. choose wisely.
What kills me with Clowney, obviously he cant run a route for shit. His football awareness is absolutely brutal for someone in the NFL. You really wont find much worse. Tipping the balls Ive seen, he obviously has great speed but can only run straight ahead as he cant run a route and at this stage if he still doesnt know he prolly never will. The game that sticks out was the game against the phins when he caught the ball wide open and ran out of bounds a yard short of the 1st down marker. As an NFL wide receiver you need to know where that is at all times.
Great point about the Phins game. It was nice to see Clowney fight through consecutive training camps to try and make the active roster but he's just not good enough to be playing. As much as it pains me to say this, Mangini was right on this one.
I guess Ive been a little biased against Braylon from when I was at the Jacksonville game when he dropped that 2 pointer(which bounced off his hands) and also fumbled and both those plays added greatly to the Jets losing. His official stat was 5 drops during the season, 2 in the post season and lets not forget the Jacksonville fumble.
I was at that Jacksonville game. Crowd went beserk when he caught that ball, and 3 seconds later the cheers turned into confusion, chaos, and adult men weeping.
I was one of those weepers, if Edwards held the ball for 3 seconds it would have been a TD, the problem was he caught it, Barely got hit and dropped it. At least when clowney CAUGHT THE BALL and ran out of bounds short of the first he held onto the ball.
no matter the position, there are ALWAYS aged vets waiting for the phone to ring. great teams resist the temptation to slightly improve the team for a very limited period of time and instead focus on developing their own in-house young talent. it's hard to see clowney or any of our young receivers getting better if every time they are about to step onto the field we bring in a vet that pushes them back to the bench.
