I haven't seen anything saying anything is official for any of the guys we agreed to terms with.... Sent from my VS987 using Tapatalk
So for all intents and purposes, we haven't gotten a damn thing nailed down except Mosley the kid Wr and the new OT. Did I miss anything?
LOL.. and there's nothing to keep the rest of our "FA's" from changing their minds either. Seems all this negotiating up until now was pointless or just a prelude.
There is nothing different now vs back before the legal tampering period other than that news outlets are now able to report it. Before the legal tampering period, an agent would be negotiating before free agency started, and a player could back out in exactly the same way but you wouldn’t hear it. Any time you negotiate in this way there is always that potential. Just as in business at large, the main thing that discourages a one side from backing out of a verbal contract is the fact that it gives you a bad name, and in the future other parties are less inclined to negotiate with you.
Doesn't matter in Barr's case, the Vikings are still paying him and by the time his new deal expires nobody will care that he bailed on the Jets.
There will always be exceptions to the rule, especially when emotion comes into play. Sounds like he was pretty desperate to stay in his pro-hometown. From what I hear guys really like playing for Zimmer.
They could be looking to trade for Carr as well. They have alot of different routes they can take. We need a stud edge rusher and that market is gone. If Bosa or Allen are there, you have to take one. Houston is fine but he's not going to give you 16 games and it's a position we have missed for years. Mac must upgrade the center position unless they think Toth can play, and we need at least 1 corner in free agency. Then the draft can go edge, WR,OL depth x 3. At least we won't be looking for starters in the late rounds. 2020 has to be the real push. I think we're now much better but still a year away .
Just to set the record straight - without trying to be the internet nazi, in his rookie campaign (2016) Jared Goff had a < 53% completion rate. In his rookie season (2018) Josh Rosen had a 55.2% completion percentage. Also in 2018 Josh Allen had a worse percentage than Sam Darnold and Sam was only .5% percentage points behind Lamaar Jackson. Therefore, your conclusion that only three QB were in Sam Darnold's "range" is off by a factor of two.
Yeah Shittsburgh is a cheap, unprofessional organization. You nailed it when you said they only offer signing bonuses and that’s it. Any reports to the contrary are false. Not sure why a Jets fan wants to keep peddling Steeler propaganda. There is a reason everyone leaves that place when they are due for a new contract. Bell and Brown this year showed it this year but you can go back to the 90s with that team. Soon JuJu and Conner will be holding out or demanding a trade and people will blame them. Fuck the Steelers
