1st its not a good signing until we see the contract terms. So that has to be determined. 2nd that doesnt rule out Hawk(every team drafts best avialable player) unless its obvious. The way the Jets FO is playing this right now, noone knows who their top 4 rankings are in order. We can all guess right now) 3rd I dont really see this guy starting, he is just a deph player I think 4th will he play inside or outside? nobody knows where any of the lbers will play there are rumors Vilma might play outside. This is why they have training camp and minicamps.
Hobson ain't starting with Kassell there now. If Kassell can't start over Hobson, then what are they doing? Hobson is average at best.
He sounds like a poor mans greg biekert. who while not be the fastest lb in the world is a hell of a player very smart.
So your saying that he's on par with an Ohio State superstar/top 10 draft pick. God I hope you are right. This could be the signing of the decade. Cocaine is a powerful drug.
word.. here we go judt because he is a jet he all of sudden he is a all pro.. guy iss olid player which is fine we need a few more solid signings like this imo. but lets not overeact.
Don't get me wrong I think it's a good pickup but let's not get too excited. I said if he's a lesser (ie Poor man's Hawk) it's a good pickup. Not saying he compares to Hawk in all facets of his game. He was an undrafted player who is to some degree overachiving in the NFL. Hmm, reminds me of someone but only the number 80 comes to mind. Like the flashlight he probably has all pro character and will be a good addition but lets not put him in the pro bowl, much less the starting lineup just yet. From what I've read about him, his speed and coverage leave something to be desired. Once again I think it is a good pickup, at worst depth/Special Teams and at best a decent starter at LB.
well we are going to need a pass rush if we want to be succesful. Ellis can provide a rush. Kimo Oelhoffen is probally more of a run support DE. We need a good Pass rushing OLB if we want to put pressure on the QB OH btw hobson is starting to look like a possible cut now.
Greater needs Before the Kassell pickup I thought that we may be looking for a LB early, but with his addition our LB corps is not in dire straits. The signing of Von Olhofen, Dyson a and now Kassell does say something. Tangini does not want to feel pressured to make reach for a need pick. They have put out some of the fires and can focus on the offense. The closer it gets to the draft I'm thinking they are looking more offense at #4, QB or OT. The 29 and 35 will be best player available type picks, which they should be. There's just no predicting who we're gonna end up with at those picks.
Why wouldn't he be? A strong starter for the past two seasons in Tennessee, of course he's going to make the roster.
And why exactly would that be? Mcclover is still a question mark, one for his size and two for his injury. Kenyatta Wright and Mark Brown who i think they should resign are UFA's So right now our LB count stands at 9 including Thomas. I dont think they would cut Hobson who came be very productive at time when you still have ppl like Myers and Enzor on the team.
I'm starting to think BARTON would be more of a cap casualty due to his injury problems and possibly not fitting in the 3-4...what if it ended up being... LOLB-Vilma ILB-Kassel ILB-Hobson ROLB-Thomas I wouldn't mind that? Chatham would probably have a shot at one of the ILB spots too.
I dont think they would put Vilma outside. if anything it would be: OLB - Hobson, Barton, Thomas, McClover, Myers ILB - Vilma, Kassel, Chatham And this is based off of the roster on their offical site.
