I think it has to do with the system and where a team is at in their development. Most top teams have had decent corner play, lower tier teams are not going to bring him in as they want guys to get experience for next season. Also you have coaches and players that can't seem to get away from each other (just like Mangini and Poteat).

Curious that NE didn't look at him, but I don't recall if he left on good terms or not and he came to the Jets.

Seriously, judging by the reaction on this forum, you'd think that Revis is going to throw on the ol' #22, hold out for a $100M deal and sexually assault an entire high school before Law plays a down.

Relax, people. The Jets signed a dime back. Big freaking deal.

it can't be true. i would be very surprised if it was. i already stated how that would mean revis would have to pay reebok for all the jerseys they have already made with his name on it. plus the quote by law makes zero sense as printed but everyone is freaking out anyway.

I know, seriously! People can be so illogical . . . I am asking every Jet fan on this board to try and remove emotion from their judgement of this move and look at this signing LOGICALLY. I think many of you will realize that this move makes a lot of sense.

as long as he knows his place i'm fine with it.

I just don't think he'll do that. If he walks into the locker room with this "i'm fuckin Ty Law" bullshit, Kris Jenkins better sit on him until he gets his shit squared away.

The chemistry is so strong, he better improve it and not ruin it.

i'd rather have Lowery starting and geting better then taking the nickel spot..evne Hank Poteat is doing better this year...i hope hes the 3rd CB and no higher

he is a huge upgrade from Drew "free 1st down" Coleman

By the way, I know that Elam's had a few big plays lately, but Law could be a very effective safety, especially on early downs.

I'll say it once..i'll say it again. It's not Law's play on the field that's the concern...it's his off-field attitude and demeanor. Did he turn over a new leaf? that remains to be seen....but based on his history...it doesn't look good. I just want him to stay away from Revis...he's fine without Law in his ear.

Nobody ever HAS to give up their number. If Law wants it he can buy it, beg for it or live without it.

actually what just occured to me which now infuriates me is that we signed law as an annoyance factor like for real now they are going to be pissed and while I have all the faith in the world in the Jets a pissed of Pats team is not what we need now

I understand the concern, but I think the coaches whose job safety are a function of their team's performance will certainly have this in mind. They're not stupid, and Eric knows Law extremely well.

Me too. But why are people assuming that he won't do this? The guy is a 34 year old verteran who clearly wants a shot at getting in the playoffs again and winning another superbowl.

I think a Mangini team is better prepared to handle him than a Herm team.

why would the pats be pissed? they had 10 weeks of the season to sign if they wanted him. and he is also a former jet.

Ty Law can help this team. At this point in his career he isnt going to come in and be a problem. Not nine weeks into a season. Lets give this a chance and see how it goes. If anything maybe he can help Lowery out.

Really? You don't think that the Martin trade, the Parcells trade, Belichick's swapping out of New York, the Mangini situation, Spygate, and much more importantly, first place being on the line had motivated them? You think Ty Fucking Law, who will probably be on for 10 snaps at most, is the one thing has Bruschi putting something extra on a tackle?
