It wasn't smart business full stop, at the end of the day, Johnson performed equally as well as Flacco has done, do they not know what skill set they have on the PS? It doesn't say a lot about their evaluation skills tbh, we have probably thrown a 5th round pick in the bin ( I know it is just a 5th but it could still be used in a package to jump up the board)
He could have traveled for this Sunday if was necessary. But Zach was better, so there was no need. And if that knee tweak Zach had yesterday reaggravated the sprain, I don't know about you, but I would be happy Joe is on the roster. Most back-ups don't even get to start. Joe already started and played full game and subbed in another. And by the way had a decent performance (leads all our QBs in rating now). Resulted in Moore having a break out game and winning rookie of the week. We gave up a 6th round pick and basically Philly is paying almost all his salary. I just don't think this trade was as bad as King is making it sound.
I may be mistaken, but I believe when a player is traded, due to Covid there is a mandatory waiting period before the player can report and begin practicing. If I'm correct, then King is full of it, it wasn't a matter of Flacco just not reporting for 5 days. Even if I am mistaken about that, there may have been a legitimate reason for Flacco not to report for 5 days. He may have some personal matter to attend to that was approved before the trade was made.
As Bill Parcells would say: "A team with 5 QB's has no QB." He was generally right in these types of things.
Theres only a waiting period if they’re unvaccinated which Flacco is. That’s why King said what he did.
