I was unaware too, and that certainly changes things. If he can bounce back from the surgery, I'd be in favor of letting Feely go. He's likely to be our highest paid FA, and I'd love some depth at another position.
There are two things I highly doubt about the current situation: 1. The Jets are giving him an unfair offer. 2. He is going to get the offer he wants from another team. The way I see it, Feely likely comes back for a TC competition. If the reports of Folk recovering from surgery are true, then I would give Folk a good shot at beating out Feely. Folk was a 90% kicker in 2008 following an 83.9% season in 2007. He showed improvement following a poor year until his reported surgery. It is enough, in my mind, to give him a look in TC at the least to see if he can bounce back from it.
This is football, man. It doesn't matter what kind of person you are if you can play this game. Ray Lewis got away with murder, and he was forgiven by almost everyone...you know why? ...because in his prime, he was the best. I don't give a rat's ass if Jay Feely's a nicest person in the world. If he can't make kicks in the playoffs, then fuck him...
Dude, even if you're were kidding...others aren't. People are actually using the nice guy/team leader excuse for this KICKER.
per rotoworld I've got high hopes for Folk.....this could turn out to be a steal for the Jets if he returns to his 2008 form.
HIS ONE BAD YEAR IS WHY WE WILL BE TERRIBAD!!! FOLK IS WHY MY JOB SUCKS. FOLK RAPED MY SISTER. Folk is bad, m'kay. Srsly tho, I liked the Folk signing and I still do. I think he's an upgrade over Feeley, despite his 1 bad year.
LOL...you bumped this with old news, but I agree. Like I said before, he's been working with Chris Sailer to fix the problems that arose from his rush back. He very well could be great for us.
meh...the blurb from rotoworld is new....and at least I didn't start a new thread....so fuck off
